To be honest, Apple is pretty lenient when it comes to customer service. They're more concerned about customers than they are about products. I had an iPod Classic and the screen cracked (no Apple Care) and we took it into the store. At first, they wanted full price for a new one, but after some infuriating conversation with my dad, they gave me the new one free of charge. Just take it in and tell them you are displeased and want to leave for another company. They'll be like putty in your hands.
Are you Normal? Or Do you Sexually Assault or Abuse your Mac?
This isn't really the built issues, this looks like issues of being overly careless towards a MAC and treating a MacBook as if it was a cheap 1984 second hand Grandfather Aged PC with a bulky greyish black screen...!
I've had one of these puppies for years now. Going back to the original G3 PISMO version. All of mine have been sold to other users in next to original condition. Even after 6 years of taking back on forth to work everyday. Taking on vacations etc.
lol i love how this video is like 3 years old almost
and like really it does look like abuse
even if you dont say it is.... it IS abuse
1. you pull out the charger wrong which is why its breaking
2. you most likely have your laptop in not good weather conditions like humidity and stuff that causes it to warp and the diffrent systems to malfuncion
3. you prolly dont realize that you are hurting your laptop, thats why you should research what not to do with it
dude my macbook wen i press the power button.. nothing happens. and when i try to turn it off in ANY way i doesnt turn of.. i have no idea how to fix it. i can only force turn it off. and the force quit window doesnt come up. mines retarded. 13.3 macbook pro unibody mid 2008
Not to hate on you, but it seems like abuse and maltreatment rather than quality issues. Are you a college student who doesn't take care of his stuff? Did mommy and daddy buy it for you? If you are an indoctrinated college student, this IS why socialism does not work. Peace
First a update, i am still using it as my main computer altho now the screen has more marks in between the lcd and the backlight. the cd drive wont burn disks and some keys occasionally wont work.
Now to reply to your comment, yes the mac is well used. but its not abused, ive seen other apple laptops with similar warping. as for the headphone jack, they ware out quickly. the thing is that the MBP fell apart quicker than my G4 PB
@Flankitto04 I agree. That definitely does look like abuse and maltreatment. I also agree 100% about your questioning whether or not mommy/daddy purchased his toy for him. Whenever my parents buy me something, I take GREAT care of it.
I know they work hard to earn the money to buy me whatever it is that I need.
It's sad to see children take their parents for granted these days. =/
Actually some of this is for sure not abuse, I had some of the same problems and I bought it around the same time as this person. I had the case warping and things getting behind the screen. The first gen models were absolutely horrid!
My aluminum powerbook had 'warped aluminum' because the previous owner mistreated it. My Titanium powerbook had serious paint problems because of apples build quality. problems like this are not new.
wash your hands and the laptop frequently.
get a good laptop case/bag.
don't buy the first version of a new product, there are always problems with new versions.
aluminium is a soft metal, and i use my laptop all the time and on the move so aluminium maybe isnt the best metirial to build a laptop out of, but the welds in the new macbooks arnt as consistant as a powerbook and the aluminium is thiner. i use a teckshell to protect my laptop and was it frequently and the dirt has built up behind the screen
Apple doesn't use plain aluminum for the macbooks. Instead, a very strong aluminum composite is used, that is also used in aviation. However, the first models do have a lot of problems, especially regarding hardware.
if you say so, but ive had powerbooks and you can realy feel the difference in build quality, im not the sort of person that is going to put my laptop in a £100 specialy desgined case to protect it from day to day. i use my laptop and dont want a laptop that is built to sutch low standards. but apart from the faults its a briliant machene.
you could say so. i take it everyware and use it's alwase. but compared to the powerbooks which wernt gread this could of been made out of paper and been just as strong lol
i got mine today on thanksgiving b/c my bday i turn it on and the screen is there but no light even after wen i turn to max i also check the battery no light im gonna take it bak for a new one an did urs come installed w/ leapord??
go blend it please. you dont qualify to own a mac.

My power cord was frayed at the plug. I called Apple because i heard they are now replacing them free of charge.
They told me they will immediately send me a brand new adapter free of charge!
But after I recieve the new adapter I have to send them the old one.
But .. when they receive the old one and deem it was abused. They charge me 80 bucks for the "free" adapter..
I asked them if i could send them the old adapter first before i received the new one, and they said "we don't work that way"..

If you treat it like crap - IT WILL BREAK.
Just like anything.
Grow up and look after your stuff.

You failed to answer the questions about who bought it. That directly relates to socialism.
I just got my MBP. It's beyond gorgeous and has no problems

Most of Macs' products are faultless. Occasionally the chinese-made stuff can be faulty ... and if you don't have apple-care look out.

Seems like symptoms of abuse rather than poor quality. :/

Not like a MAC ever really utilizes any of its superfluous 'power'.
