Used to have an Emax sampler and two(!) mc-307, one got stolen, when I bought a new one, a friend of mine borrowed it (3 yrs ago) and still refuse to give it back.. This video reminded me how cool it was to sit and groove allnight - going through different states of mind with the beat of the drum, while chasing all kinds of dragons, when I lived in Amsterdam... I'm going to get my groovebox back !

well done. I ended up here because there is a cheap MC909 for sale near me. However I already own a fantom. Seems like this is the sequencer portion of a fantom in its own box. Since I, like you, enjoy hardware with lots of buttons and sliders, this was a nice vid. Since these are the pros what are the cons to the MC909?

@IanCanefire well 1thing bout the 909 that u can make ur own sound... u can layer more than 4 synths into 1,..tweak it,normalize it then save it...u'll get a fat sound. even the drums u can create ur own sounds. the 1 in this video,all sound was made by myself.... the problems bout the 909 is the smart media...they dont make it anymore & the capacity of the sample is not that much... but overall 909 is a good sequencer.

I'll have to agree with JosephDThomay. This is the best MC909 video i've seen as well. EVERYBODY else is boring and repetitive trance styles and really bad wanna be hip hop beats, or just straight garbage. Doing dubstep aint as easy as it looks and you just murdered it. At first i was skeptical but then u spazzed it with that electribe's ribbon, it was wrap. Thank you very much, you have just reinstated my faith in the MC 909, and sold me on the electribe.

for the MC 909 u can edit it with ur laptop coz there is a usb at the back of it .... hmmmnnn bout performance with it u got to use usb/midi where it can read mid files. u can even copy midi files & lay on the MC 909.
