  • DRATINIIII

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the internet one night see video book trailer

  • Recently in Japan, those oar fish have been found dead at the shore around Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures...The tradition says that a huge earthquake would occur when this happened..

  • poor fish :( those who tached are dumb because they are very rare i would release it

  • and oar fish live very deep .

  • whoa nice oarfish almost full lenghth good find man

  • that's an oarfish

  • I'd like to see an aquarium big enough to hold an oarfish. They get 30 feet long! And if it's on the surface then it's going to die no matter what they do. Oarfish only come to the surface of the water to die.

  • redwolf it cant cause the pressure is very high and wen an oar fish comes to the surface it's insides expand and it dies .

  • obviously an oarfish

  • its a oar fish not a monster

  • at 7 sec it looking like the monster in world of warcraft XD nice fish

  • lmao yeah it does

  • OMFG they found a very rare fish only known to come up from the bottom of the ocean every summer for half the month

  • them shits is good eatin, wit some hotsauce!

  • *hypnotized by the beauty of oar fish* @w@ PURRRRTIEEEEEEE..........

  • It should be the biggest oarfish caught.

It is exposed in a temple in Lamma Island, Hong Kong. This stuff is almost the same length of the side of the temple.

  • I love the oar fish aka the ribbon fish, pretty fish to bad it died

  • I both love and hate seeing video of oarfish. I love it because they're beautiful creatures and are rare, but I hate it because when they come to the surface it means that they're dieing. It saddens me to see such a beautiful animal dieing. I would love to one day encounter one of these myself.

  • I know. I am a Sea Animal lover myself. I would love to see one as well.

  • Way 2 go. I love animals to, especially fish. Oarfish do, however, rise to feed high in the water column of nutritious Plankton at night, which is responsible for Sea Serpent sightings.

  • True but we don't generally encounter them at night since we're usually not out then :P 90% of the time it's daytime and the ones we see are sick and dying (I hope I spelled dying right this time lol). I believe it's these ones responsible for sea serpent sightings, seeing as sailors hundreds of years back wouldn't have very strong artificial lights with witch to pierce the darkness, and if they're well oarfish are near the surface but below it at night, so it's tough to see them at night.

  • thats the most beautiful oarfish i hve ever seen

  • man that fish is pretty

  • Oh sorry errr..i spelled it wrong i mean oarfish

  • biggest aorfish i seen

  • u know,u should never eat a oarfish, in my book,it says that it causes trouble, when u eat it

  • they surface when tehy are about to die

  • they were right. when its alive.. its beautiful!

  • aww thats so cool that an oar fish came up from the deep. to bad that it was dying to force it up

  • that one is cute .. seen pics and vids of other ones, not so cute .. but i'm sure that's only because the ones I saw were already dead .. saw one vid of one swimming and they're quite beautiful .. they really do resemble the ancient chinese dragons ..

  • The Fish is called an OarFish. They Only go to the Sursace if They're Sick.

  • Yes, the animal in these pictures is called an oarfish. Though they are rarely seen by humans, they are not endangered, nor have they ever been. They live very deep in the ocean and only come near the surface when they are either about to lay eggs or about to die. This is why they are usually filmed and photographed dead, rather than alive. So, you needn't worry about these critters; they're doing just fine. ;)

  • Thanks for the info.. that's a relief for sure :D

  • Lol.

    No.

  • It's the picture quality, that is an Oarfish.

  • holy crap its huge

  • its seems that they're going to extinct

  • they come to the surface and thrash around on rocks until they die =(

  • Pretty pretty shiny shiny

  • oarfish eh i use to catch those baby ones and the beach of hawii now there all gone only moray eels are left there fun too

  • your lying. They live deep down in the ocean 2000+ meters. Get your facts right before lying ok?

  • elit3brawler just a question. do you know where Oarfish lay thier young, if not then ur post proved nothing wrong so untill you get all the info you need don't insult people and call them liars.

  • i just got mad because these fish are a rare sighting and people have enough nerve to mess with them

  • awesome oarfish!

  • weiirrd i see why the japanese thought there were dragons o.O

  • I think that it's a pretty fish :)

  • ooo.. :(

  • Poor thing its most likely dead now. I read that they only come to the surface to die.
