is it possible that a girl like me could be part and have an opportunity and carrer in navy ,?? i love mathemtics .. especially trigonometry and geometry . physics 1 and 2 . academically i have no problem at all... by the way im 2nd year college takng of Bachelor of science in Mechanical Eng'rng in Polytechnic of the Philippines,
I really think its me I'm 14 year old in I'm wondering to start a career for life in the Navy should I go to ROTC or military school to get started on it. I'm not a bad kid though i believe they have military schools for kids to start a naval career. Some one please help me out me and my parents been looking.
My son is in high school now and is struggling with his alegebra and sceince. He has had dreams of being a mechanical engineer in the Navy. I plan on sharing this with him. It should give him some positive vibes not to give up on his dream.

@Lemonhead12555 Tell him not to give up; for me math is a lot like body building. In order to get good at math and science you have to do repetitions and not slack on your regimen.
It's said that after a bad math lesson Alexander the great asked his teacher Menaechmus, "in my kingdom there are royal roads built smoothly, as short cuts for the king. Can you not make this task easier for me?"
Menaechmus replied,""Sire, there is no royal road to geometry."
good vid, my brother sucked at maths terribly, he join the navy, for 10 years came out and completed his mechanical engineering degree. If you love what you do, you will prevail over just about anything.
Great story! Reminds me of my high school struggle in math, but low and behold I finished my mechanical engineering degree and have worked 35 years in engineering since. My field is shipboard combat systems.
This post is good. I like the passion you had. I failed precalculus and was ready to give up. I came back and took calculus and I'm doing better now. I thought I was the only engineer who has a hard time in math. Thanks. I'm also looking at the possibility of joining the military.
i would just like to thank you for your uplifting story, although no retaking of algebra took place in my high school days, i did however come across the same problem with calculus as you had. I am a sophomore now at Purdue engineering studying mechanical engineering and I would just like to say hearing a story like yours as such a success really shows me that all the hours that I study may and most likely will pay off. Thanks for the lift in spirits!:)
Calculus is the only thing that really scares the hell out of me lol

He seems like a very good mentor. Wonder if my invention has naval potential.

The NAVY uses the term engineer a little to loosely. Perhaps seperateing the difference between a engineer and a EN, EM, DC, etc.
