Hey! I was wondering if you used a separate library for the 'particle effect' type things, like the explosions, or are they just really well animated sprites? :P Thanks!
@syberwolff The explosion sprites themselves are from some unknown source I can no longer remember, but not self-rendered. The effects on shots hitting the ground/boss explosion are just generic particles rendered with an additive composition mode I hacked together.
Fantastic use of SDL! What sort of collision detection are you using? AABBs? How long did you have to develop this? It is very polished, bravo sir! Can't wait to see what you come up with when you start learning 3D stuff!
