  • um nah. not lying. why is it so hard to believe?

You other comment is rediculous man... im not even gonna waste time with that... I'm doin my thing. People dig it. You don't and that's fine.

You are the one that needs to get real bro. I know how I make my beats. You don't.

  • do the same beat on an sp1200 where you gotta put it toghether yourself...no autochop shit...

  • what are you implying?

I've never used autochop a day in my life. All those slices are handpicked.

    Silly ass haters

  • loopwholetube im glad you removed all of your other comments because you appeared to have feminine attributes ! jealousy is an attribute of a women and is disgusting for a man to display! hey for 2010 let all the haters work on their femininity ! plus this track is dope how could you not like it ?

  • that beats dope

  • fire!

  • great yesss

  • this shit is hard.... keep it up.

  • amazing shit bro

  • give some more tracks MaN

  • what exact capabilitys does this drum machine have?? i mean can it be used as synth, drum machine, sequencer???

  • Not a drum machine really, it's a sampler. A very good and versatile one at that. If you're looking to make hip-hop and other types of stuff you should look into the mpc.

  • Its a drum machine/phrase sampler and sequencer in one.

No it does not have a built in synth, you can sample one but it does not come w/ one.

Im not going to do all your research for you, google "MPC 2500" and find the rest out.

No it does not come w/ onboard sounds....the older ones didnt at least...and the MPC 1000 has some..also its not a "true" sampler...

If you want all all in one look into the OL Niko, OL Miko, MPC 5000, MV 8800, etc or just use a DAW w/ VST's

  • proper shit !

    well played !

  • Nicely done!!!!

  • vry vry nice samples :D

  • very nice...

do you have a myspace page?

  • boy... make an album! and sign me down for a copy!

  • -aceface- is awesome!

  • this dude has such good taste in samples, seriously, keep it up man.

  • ure a genius.

  • dj shadow?

  • damn!

  • you killed me, you're a real digger&sampler.

  • nice one but i think the perc smpls are @!#$%^&&@#% dope beat tho!

  • thats fucking sick man. good shit. Hope you come out with some more

  • ooohh epic hip hop... thats real.

  • hey man! drums were good, bass was eating the beat so thats more than wicked, your harp sample also sounded perfect, but i would reccomend you to sort the strings out, they sound too sharp, try to filter em or put thru low pass. just make them sound softer. just my opinion bro. do ya thing man :)

  • That bass was sick homey!

  • aaaaa yhea, papa !!!!!! thats nice , kid...keep it up..mickey, nyc

  • That very first baseline is straight ACES man, loved it. Very relaxed beat, keep it up yo. :)

  • so dope!

  • if your aiming for shadow like jesses stating you´re on the right path :) well done, great sounding breaked beats. Don´t agree with him on the single hits thing, keep it up! Your sound are better than his myspaces anyways.

  • Dope beats. Couple of pointers if I may... Use powered speakers, and update the drums a little. Everyone always uses the same breaks.. Drums need to be chopped into single hits, and mixed after. You sound like a shadow wannabe and I know your NOT! Keep up the good work man! :) SICK WITH THOSE SAMPLES

  • The drums ARE chopped down to single hits... It's not a played out break... the ride came from a totally different source than the kick and snare. I mean, do you know where the drums came from? I'd be surprised if anyone could name the artist and album the drums came from.

The drums sound shoddy in quality because of the crappy video cam mic. Check it out on my myspace, they sound a lot better on the original track.

Advice is appreciated, but lets hear some of your beats.

    Peace

  • You mom sounds weak, no hate, but she's kinda boring. haha

  • lame joke

  • your a dumb ass bitch moemors.. but your right on this

  • People have said the drums aren't bangin enough on this track. I personally like the nuances of the jazz drum break. whether it's boring or not is subjective, but I think enough people have given me props on the track to feel somewhat secure about it's dopeness.

  • the beat matches the mood of the melody, if the drum was any harder, it would be a little off.

    keep up the good work.

  • man shut up.his drums were cut into single hits.his hi hats are not.i think its dope.

  • yo man, i just started learning the classic mpc 2000 a few months ago, and you are definitely an inspiration. your beats are so intricate and definitely something to aspire to. and damn dude, 7 sample sources! shit's crazy.

    peace

  • Good

  • once again good stuff.

  • Nice beat but I felt like the drums never dropped. The ones you had were good for an intro but they can kind of wear on you a little bit.

  • Yeah, only critic right here, it needs a fat drumbeat underneath indeed. It does kinda feel like an intro, but no sweat I liked it already.

  • damn that 2500 looks like fun, i may have to upgrade from my 2000xl someday

    nice drums by the way

  • Aww man, but the 2000XL has got that old school finesse!

    appreciate the comment.

    Peace

  • nah, I always lay out the kick and snare at the same time, then layer the hats or ride.

  • i could listen to this beat for daaaayyyysss..keep up the good work...

  • love your style.. sounds like blockhead alot! keep up the good work

  • the strings with the chops at the end is hot. i like your tracks and how you make them really creative .i make beats check me out when you get a chance peace.

  • Smooth work with them samples,it takes a good ear to be able match various sample sources together.Peace!

  • dude, your shit is tight, keep up the good work :D

  • man leave them dam drums alone its hot.... it sound better on ur my space....peace... be hittin u soon wit some vids

  • Love the sound... original, not like some of the other people I've seen on here trying to imitate all the mainstream crap that's out there...

This beat sort of reminds of The Automator back in the Deltron 3030 and Dr. Octagon days.

Nice work. You make it look easy.

  • how do you make each samples match the other samples???

  • by tuning them in program mode. Sometimes samples won't work together regardless of what I do, so a lot of it is just trial and error, seeing what works and what doesn't.

  • The quality of the drums recorded by the camera mic could be a factor in why they sound bad to some people. If anyone has the time to check out the quality of the drums on my myspace(The track is called "Lucidity Flows") to let me know if they sound cool or shit on the actual track, I would greatly appreciate your input. I'll try and flip a new drum pattern if people are still hatin on them.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone

  • u should change up the drums..they dont fit..but everything else is bangin

  • nice! real shame about the drums though,.. everything else is fucking top notch.

    peace.

  • Dope man!!!! but how do you match all the samples from different sources to match the rest of the song?

How are searching for the right feeling?

(excuse me for my bad english, i'm from Holland)

  • Listening to a LOT of records. I'll spend a better part of my day in the recent arrival vinyl bin. In terms of making them all match, it's all trial and error. I'll chop up whatever I think sounds cool and try tuning the samples to match the others, but if it isn't working out I just try something else. I don't spend a lot of time trying to make work what isn't meant to be.

  • Like I posted on another of his beat videos, he uses Pete Rock's technique of adding elements from alot of other sources & it works! It's good to do! Like he said, you have to have a sense of how to "blend" those element, but once you do, you can be very creative like he has done! Oh & I love that piano sample you brought in there, hott!!

  • take it further its ends too soon but i like it a lot, maybe even a voice over it (me), hehe

  • It isn't the full track, just showing how I built the song up. I got the fully developed song on the myspace. As for vocals, I got a rapper I'm working with.

  • sweet, now you need a voice, and put that on the air. im so proud

  • Nice...I checked out your myspace...I like the vibe you're putting out. It's definitely not a "big-up yourself" track...which is a good thing!! This track would be cool if you put a monologue sample in the mix. peace.

  • Yeah my dude u NICE....

  • ur sick how long you been doing this?

  • I've been using the mpc since November 07

  • titling your vid "so-and-so KILLS IT" on the MPC means you have a lot to live up to. i was ready to hate, but....ya did good, kid. nice job indeed

  • hahaha, that's exactly what kind of train of thought im trying to provoke in naming it that! It seems like the best way to market yourself on youtube is to be a little arogant. Everyone and their mom has got shit on youtube, and I gotta make myself stand out. I like to think I can back it up, but I swear I'm pretty modest in real life. I figured that if I titled it something like that people would be more inclined to take a look to see if it's whack or not.

  • no doubt, no doubt. if i may ask a question - and this is as somebody who's slowly learning to make beats; i'm not trying to judege one way or the other - for the bassline, were all the individual notes pulled from one sample (and tuned), were they all individual samples, or was it from a keyboard or something? i'm trying to avoid getting a keyboard for basslines but not having much luck making good ones otherwise....

  • i sampled a bass break, chopping up about 10 individual notes. Then I tuned them to a scale that matched the other samples i used.

  • one of the best beats ive seen on youtube.. n ive subscribed to loads, watched pretty much every mpc video, n this...this is top quality man....keep it up, n keep this sound goin!

  • turn off the quantize!

  • you gotta hit it pretty on time in order for the quantize to even do what you want. It'll quantize the notes in the wrong place if your off beat on the mpc.

Someone was bound to hate on me tho...

  • Very cool, how much does that module cost?

and do you do any sampling youself?

    Keep up the good work

  • it's $2,000 new. I have some drums I played, recorded and chopped up but i haven't used them in a song yet.

  • nice

  • This is amazing man... Aside from the drums and bass, are the samples all from the same song?

  • Nah... Here i'll break it down. Harp is from one source, guitar is from another, the strings and piano are from another, the deeper violin trill that hits betwen the piano is from another, the bass is from a different source and the ride is from a different song than the bass drum and snare hits.

  • Keep it real Hip-Hop...

    Santa

  • Dope!

  • you got it down to a science
