You forgot to mention how the name Leonard Skinner became Lynryd Skynryd>>> At that Time the soft Rock Band the BYRDS(Roger McGuinn) were in their prime, and Gary, and Ronnie added the YRD to the Name to give it a YRDish style

I remember one morning when I was in the 6th grade in South Alabama getting dressed for school and I heard this "new band" on the radio playing Sweet Home Alabama. My musical tastes and part of my whole sense of self were shaped in one moment that morning before school. Thanks for a great tribute.

Hey,I would just like to say "great presentation of a great band" and I agree with "some" of the other comments,but I would also like to add that at 38 seconds into the clip,[that`s eerie,38 Special,Larry an all] it shows a pic of Gary and in the background is 1970?,looks more like early 60`s,he looks like a teenager.

@2000tc88 For sure its not 1970, because the band was playing together in 1968...I think. And in that photo he isnt with Ronnie or Allen. Probably 1966. A couple before they were all together as Skynyrd.

@2000tc88 It is a 1970 picture of Gary. I have a booklet that came in the Skynyrd box set and the picture of Gary is in it. At least that's the year they have put on it.

That is a very nice piece of work for an 8th grader. I was in 10th or 11th grade when the plane went down. Living in Jacksonville the event made quite an impression on me. I'll always be a Skynyrd fan :-)
