  • 'splorin like it's nineteen sixtay-hey nah-eye-n-uh!!

  • and he actually said "when we go back to the Moon"..."land on Mars"..LOL... what a comedian..

  • i know some simulation the cad software 7:25 cool

  • i know some simulation the cad software

  • @joshatkins94 (2/2) The problems with Mercury kept Kennedy interest tepid, fearing it was just a public relations nightmare. Instead he went on as a social program proponent and had little interest in the space program beyond its 'slogan' value for months into his term, until he was convinced of its political expediency and made his 1961 'Special Message" speech.

ie. Kennedy was a POLITICIAN. His interest was political and his speech was driven by politics.

  • If America wishes to gain its honour back after the iraq war etc. I couldnt think of anything better than its space program.

  • Military's at MAX, culture's at MAX, yep, only Space Program's left.

  • Kennedy was pulled in kicking and screaming. He deserves no credit.

  • bull shit.

  • Now there is an edjucated and well thought out response if I've ever seen one. Congratulations on impressing us all with your immense wit and intellect.

  • @BunkLite he actually wanted to go to Mars, but MIT professor (later deputy NASA administrator) Robert Seamans had to convince him it wasn't possible, but flights to the Moon would be.

  • If it was not for the pictures from space would would not have known about the hole in the ozone layer and we would be in deep trouble by now.

  • Greatest Hazard to Space Program:

    Democrats.

  • A Democratic president initiated the Apollo program, a Republican president cancelled it.

  • Not only was Kennedy forced to support Apollo, a democratic congress cancelled the program.

  • @BunkLite What happened was Nixon let Spiro Agnew head a commission to decide what to do next, including human Mars mission, lunar base, or shuttle/space station, and they went for the latter.

  • @DeepDeepSpace Not so fast propaganda boy.... A Republican President (Eisenhower) started the space program and a Democratic Congress ended Apollo....Oh by the way Mr. History In the SAME speech when Kennedy called for going to the moon he also called for going to Vietnam. Those who followed his call there were spit on...

  • I thought Obama cancelled this program?

  • @RonFella He reportedly wants to cancel Ares I, the planned crew launch vehicle for Orion, and plans to ask NASA to build a heavy-launch vehicle for Orion instead (think Saturn V, but bigger), but changes will need congressional approval. He has already approved a $1 bn increase in NASA's budget.
