So jealous!!!! (but also happy a real tenor/artist/man has arrived to compete with the fake "popera" stars) He has everything!!! I wish I had half the talent, looks, voice and career this mega artist has. Oh well, I guess that is why I am now a real estate agent instead of an operatic tenor like I used to be! lol Best of luck to Mr. Kaufmann in his continuing career!

Jonas Kaufmann trat neulich in der Mailander Scala in Carmen auf als Don Jose auf, er und Erwin Schrott hat für mich das beste Carmen dass ich bisher gesehen habe, geliefert. Ein großer tenor und Herr Schrott, ein fabelhafter bass bariton.

Great as he most definitely was, Herr Beethoven had no clue as to the nature of the human voice. That Mr. Kaufmann actually *sings* the final phrases of this fiendishly difficult "aria", is a testament to his artistry and his devotion to great music. Now . . . if only one could dispense with the Euro-trash production values.
