  • My thanks to the Producer! Wow.

  • I wanna go to Brasil.. For the culture, the girls and the music, :).

I ll make it happen, one day..

  • This swings, man.

Baden Powell, Joao Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Os Mutantes, e muitos outros...Merecem nosso respeito

  • this is the pure awesome superbness

  • I can't even think of words to describe this song. It's the very definition of rhythm and soul!

  • This is the best recording of Canto de Ossanha on youtube! I just recorded my own version with guitar and drums - it's on my channel. Check it out and let me know what you think :)

  • top stuff

  • É nessas horas que sinto orgulho do meu Brasil. Obrigada, Vinícius de Moraes.

  • anyone know where i can get the flute sheet music for it?

  • @arobertsist Learn it by ear.

  • I made a free translation of the lirycs for you guys...

Is in my blog, but youtube allows no links in the comments.

so, enter the terms "blogdobatman, wordpress" in google. It is the first result.

the translation is the last post.

    enjoy

  • @5halders

  • Fantastic song... Does anyone have the translation of the lyrics?

  • un tema precioso e inolvidable

  • Amazing! Makes me wanna be Brazilian. Can someone adopt me?

  • @leftyfourguns email angelina jolie :D

  • This is the second best version of canto de ossanha on youtube! the best being matthewnjee's instrumental arrangement!

  • ps: check the instrumental version of this song I'll upload

  • Bossa nova originally mixed brazilian roots samba with some jazz tendencies. Vinicius de Moraes and Baden Powell started with a new movement inside Bossa Nova that, instead of jazz, aimed for african music and the african culture in Brazil. Of course both samba and jazz share the influence of african culture, but "Os afro-sambas" was more like a new and different point of view inside bossa nova.

  • Nice take, but it's not the same as on the LP!

  • genius idol in brasil

  • 'Bossa', such as 'jazz', does not limit the kinds of music. Just look up at the dictionary. It is completely right to say this is bossa. And the finest

  • See I would personally think of this as more of an afro-samba than bossa..I guess interpretation is in the ear of the beholder..

  • I agree, it's an afro-samba. but that doesn' t mean its not bossa. 'Bossa Nova' and bossa are different things: Bossa Nova means new bossa, new kind of bossa. Take the exemple in Tonga da Mironga: "Eu caio de bossa"

  • This is a moronic comment. The album "os afro-sambas de Baden e Vinicius" is a bossa nova album. It's also a samba album, since bossa nova falls under the umbrella term samba as well.

  • @gawime1 I'd normally thank someone for helping me to set the record straight, but I won't since you sound like an elitist jerkoff

  • Sensacional introdução dessa música!!!!!!!

  • isso SIM e bossa nova!!!!!

    a melhor!!!!!

  • This is not Bossa Nova

  • Candomblé

  • real finest bossa - greetings from germany

  • Obrigado Brasil.

  • excelente

  • I don't care what it's called. Just leave it on the web for the world to hear

    very good song

  • This is DEFINETELY afro-samba. But Baden also played bossa.

  • Well, that's not Bossa Nova... It's called Afro-Samba

  • precisely!

  • Beautiful song! Thanks Paula for sharing!

  • This is supernatural. Just inhuman!

  • What a contrast (not contract)

  • This is the right bossa nova stuff. What an athmosphere! What a contract between the voice of Baden and the ladies in the background. Superb. One of my favorites! Listen and be convinced.
