  • I like that it has midi... but don't like there's no USB... so if I have made a pattern on my computer I can't play the pattern back through this. Is there a way around that? How are you getting all the sounds so tight and together without USB?

  • @urwholefamilydied As you have mentioned it has MIDI! I was playing it with MIDI-clock.

  • Bought one in 2006, still have it. Modified the case somewhat with a dremel to access the calibration pots easier (it goes out of tune quite easily), but apart from that it works perfectly.

  • MFB is rad! had a NL2 loved..sold it,had a DSI evolver loved it too..also put on the chopping block, had an access virus b,sold that too ...The Synth ii is a keeper. For an old school vibe it blows the other three out of the water.Great demo by the way!!! helped me decide to go for this synth.thanks.

  • hey! sadly sadly the synth 2 isnt produced anymore and hard to get uused (i saw it on ebay a month ago going away for ~350 €, fuucking hell i didnt have the money..) This sounds are exactly whzat im looking foe. do youu think the MFB-KRAFTZWERG does the same yob as well? or any other suuggestions in this price-league. Im a poor guy whant to do great music ;)

    greetz

    Headles

  • @headless0815 The Kraftzwerg does the same job and has a better filterdesign!

But you could also buy a used Waldorf Pulse, they are often on ebay and are sounding very good!

  • Cool! Do you think is comparable to Waldorf Pulse or with your oberheim 1000? (i want to buy a waldorf pulse for industrialish sounds, ebm arpeggios, sample&hold sounds)

  • @BurninVinyl No, the Pulse is more high-end sounding with a lot of bass and a wider octave-range, the MFB-Synth has got more dirt.

  • @mummstylesound so for industrialish sounds, ebm arpeggios, sample&hold sounds, what can you conseil me? evolver or a roland alpha juno 1+boss overdrive pedal (or both)? thanks again for the answer!

  • @BurninVinyl I would say an evolver but a pulse can also sound dirty, you can have overdrive with it by turning the oscillators up! The detuned sounds are also very good on it and you can mix in extra noise!

  • nice dopplereffekt style sounds towards the end...

  • I got one MFB Synth II and it's an amazing little analog synth....;)

  • Nice!

  • At 0:45 sounds like "the Untouchables" soundtrack! Great job! Is it a TRUE ANALOGUE?

  • @zeppelo Thank you! Yes it is a real analogue synthesizer, only the ringmodulation is digital. Greetings.

  • At 0:45 sounds like "the Untouchables" soundtrack! Great job!

  • i really like your sequences. i have some questions though: can this make chip tuney or video game kinda sounds and also is it possible to get self oscillations and lfo space music type stuff?

  • @CaptainErn Video game sounds not, but self oscillation and space lfo sounds are possible!

  • @CaptainErn CHiptunes are made using low bitrate digital synths. Specifically modified game systems themselves and emulators. Hence the name "chip" tune meaning digital chip.

Any decent analog filter will self oscillate if the resonance is maxed out.

  • Beautiful movie, very great music, pure fun!

    thanks for your work!

  • @equinoxe67yahoo Thank you very much!

  • i use this with my band... we start every show with On the Run (by Pink Floyd) played on this amazing little box... appart from the sequencer i control it with a ribbon controller... is a really nice and tight machine... not a moog or an analog korg, but for less than 500€ you get an AMAZING compact synth capable of really nasty sounds... a lot of more expensive digital synths arent capapble of doing the real job as good...

  • Yes, that´s right!

  • anybody know how to get one of these in america?

  • Had one of these.. Sold it.. Turned out I just didn't have as much fun making music without it, so ordered one again today!

The MFB Synth II is dirt cheap in everything, and the sound quality maybe isn't all that top notch, but it is super fun and a great analogue synth! more stable then the old school synths, a knob for every function!

I can't afford a MiniMoog, so this comes reasonably close in sound and the low is incredible on this synth! I use it for bass, leads and especially drumsounds

  • great video. thanks.

  • amazing sounds man! i'll be buying one soon as my first hardware synth

  • for that price range you should consider a Used NORDLEAD2.

    both good tho.

  • But a Nord Lead has only two oscillators and it´s not an analog-synthesizer. I own a Nord Micro Modular and have to say that it sounds very good, but there is also a difference between real analog synths and virtual analog synthesizers.

  • generally true, but to my ears the mfb synth II always sounded a bit like a nord lead to me. I'm probably alone there though.

  • schöner oldschool sound von manni.

ich check demnächst mal die 522 aus.
