People don't kill the earth just by existing. Every living animal (to my knowledge) breathes in oxygen and breathes out carbon dioxide. Humans contribute to this, but they aren't the only source.

Cars, electricity, and other form of pollution do further the problem, but simply existing doesn't destroy the earth. Remember, plants "breathe" in carbon dioxide that we exhale.
