  • Reading and a great story teller makes the heart see the words!

  • never never leave the town

  • A master of the old school; they don't make them like that anymore!

Will one child in a million in this generation ever know that to read can be an art? (Not that many in my generation knew it, but still it wasn't as bad then as it is now).

  • @Jedermann101Two masters of the old school . Thomas writes poetry from his heart while Burton reads from his soul. The world is a poorer place without them

  • @RichardElden He spoke highly of you.

  • How did Burton put up with a nitwit like Liz? Easy, she was a hottie!

  • @lazyriver2 Because she was beautiful and bawdy... he found it challenging and exciting... unfortunately, she was also an egomaniac.

  • It does sound kinda Scottish. All the Rs. It's not so surprising really.

It's brilliant, and beautifully read, I think. Never, never, leave the town.

I recognise a lot of the names as I live just a few miles from Llaugharne. Carreg Cennan and everything else. And how he puts it all together! Wow - brilliant.

Llareggub sounds Welsh but isn't - it's Bugger All backwards.

  • Great Actor! Lovely Try

  • Feel the words. It's not about accent!

  • I was rather surprised to hear Richard Burton speaking with a more Scotish accent than a Welsh one, did they teach him so well in his elocution lessons to drop the welsh accent in the states,so much so that when it came to reading something so intrinsically Welsh flavoured, He had lost the ability to flow with a lilting musical welsh accent. listen carefully he is trying so hard that it changes to Scottish accent in places especially the beginning. A Welshman David Wyn still a 55555, though
