  • do u buy it or dl free? thanks

  • thanks a million bro :D

  • I wnat to add music into my vido howwwww!!!

  • Can i please have the download link? I can't find it at ALL..

  • Thank you! I was worried because I'm about to change from Adobe Premiere Elements to Premiere PRo CS4 and I was super nervous but your video makes it less scary :P It's still a lot different than Elements T_T

  • Alright so i was here stressing 2 weeks ago how to work with adobe and my film is basically over and about 8 mins, but sometimes the director asks me to fix a part at the beginning causing me to drag EVERY clip over to the right (which takes forever...). Is there an easy way to get around this? Dragging 5mins of video/audio clips could get annoying after a while... thanks in advance.

  • How do you extend the sides of the video to stretch it out. I'm hating the black bars on the top and bottom.... i just want to know the hotkey you used around 6:04 to bring up the moving tool. Any help appreciated I NEED TO KNOW ASAP. Thanks in advance.

  • @crazyspooks10 To do that, select the arrow from the toolbar Then click the video to expand. But I wouldn't recommend doing that because it will cause distortion. Find out what the resolution is of the video your using then set up your project with that resolution. I have other videos on Premiere that explain setting up your project.

  • @AdobEasyTips I click the arrow tool on the bottom right, then click/doubleclick the sequence and nothings happening. I swear this is something that seems so simple and its not working.... how do you get that bubble graph thing to appear based on hotkeys? I know the arrow tool works in after effects, but its not working for me in premiere. So stresssssed =[.

  • does your update guide that fixes lagging fixes adobe premiere pro cs5?

  • its too laggy on my laptop haha i need a new desktop..

  • any idea why a long flv file won't go in?

  • @nw5111 why would you put a flv file in lol.. you're supposed to use that with a flash program. then you export the flv into a video file

  • @jchang911 thanks, what kind of flash program can I use to export to a different type of video

  • @nw5111 adobe flash pro cs5 would work. search it up on google

  • Adobe Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas witch one is better to make videos like sxephil and change color like in lightroom ?

  • good stuff, thanks man

  • do you know how to make 2 or more videos in one shot? i have like 6 layers and i'm trying to finish a project but i need all he layers to n=bee seen at once. i just want to re size them all

  • can it edit MOV files (quickTime)?? I"m not sure so I'm not going to get it yet. can you help me out here?

  • @PangKuePictures CS5 supports .Mov

  • @AdobEasyTips THANKS :)

  • @AdobEasyTips THANKS :) DO YOU KNOW ANY OTHER SOFTWARES THAT SUPPORTS THAT FILE ON A 32-BIT COMPUTER?

  • @PangKuePictures I like the Adobe software but many use Final Cut and Sony Vegas.

  • Yea Im having the same issue. I use to edit professionally on Avid but that was 10 years ago. I just started learning adobe premire last week. So I broke out the cheap flip video camera and I get the sound but just black video. Now being out of the loop for a long time Codec issues is french to me. Can I conver to the video to make this work? I also have a handy cam that records on DVD would that work?

  • @DocTaboc First check to see how your camera records file type & compression ( that's the codec) then if that doesn't work you might want to use the Adobe Media Encoder and see if you can convert it to something better suited with Premiere. Also look a the project settings in Premiere, it shows tons of compatible formats.

  • iv got one more question, can you have adobe after effects CS 1-5 on a 32 bit laptop??

  • please answer this question.

can you have adobe premiere cs5/4 on a 32 bit laptop ?????

    please answer

  • @ianmefumes CS4 can be used on a 32 bit platform. CS5 is only for 64 bit, this was a new move for Adobe to enhance performance of the software.

  • @AdobEasyTips thank you so much for reply

  • @ianmefumes anytime buddy, cheers.

  • @ianmefumes for pp cs5 you need 64bit

  • in the prewview windows, its very zoomed in, how do i zoom out?

  • @PlanetPatricksVideos You should see a percentage button underneath, you can adjust it there.

  • so this program something like sony vegas?

  • @qWiliuxxXp ish

  • @qWiliuxxXp video editing software from different companies share certain similarities. I tend to like the Adobe software so I like Premiere Pro.

  • hey...i just want to make fan vids and i just downloaded this software....every time i drag the movie clip onto the time line and try to play it....only the sound plays and there is either no video playing or it just skips. I was wondering if maybe its because im dropping a whole movie onto the time line that it wont work...its bugging me so much and i'd really appreciate your help :)

  • @nicky1779 It could be a video codec issue, make sure it's compatible. If it'snot that could have to do with the amount of ram you have on the computer.

  • @AdobEasyTips : so whats the right codec? or that would fit?

  • @AdobEasyTips

yee im experiencing the same problem and im pretty new to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, i was wondering how you can check to make sure if its compatible. The files which im trying to use are avi. files. Hope that helps...

    Thanks so much

  • @TheRoflcopter109 If you didn't record the videos yourself the best bet is to import and try that way. Although AVI is compatible the codec is important as well and you would know that by how your camera records. You can also find a list of compatible file types in the help section in Premiere.

  • Final cut sucks!

  • i hav the toshiba h30 camcorder and when ever i import the footage that iv filmed to adobe premiere pro cs4 the sound does not import from the video. can anyone help.

  • hey my premiere pro cs4 wont open and i lost the disks to redownload it cause it says i need to! do you know anywhere why i can get it?! PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Hey I'm having some trouble importing Mp4 video files. Some of them only import the audio, some of them nothing at all, and then some of them play incorrectly (the audio runs away from the video) any suggestions?

  • @MVPDJ1 Premiere Pro CS5 now supports MP4. Previous versions of the software won't support this file type.

  • @AdobEasyTips Thanks Thanks Thank You for replying! I suspected it but I wasnt't sure. So I have paid for Premiere Pro CS4 can I upgrade or do i have to buy CS5 brand new all over again??

  • @MVPDJ1 No problem, you can upgrade to CS5 but you need to have a 64 bit operating system running,It's a minimum requirement. If not Adobe recommends using CS4.

  • @AdobEasyTips Ok. I have a 64 bit OS running so thats not a problem. Can I get a link to the upgrade? I'm also going to be recording live video mixes through CS5 which ill be doing from a Macbook, W/Serato Scratch Live Video SL. I want to be able to edit my entire mix and then finally create a High Def. DVD all using CS5 Do you have any recomendations? Just a little info on my system. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, Intel Pentium Dual Core 4GB Ram. Thanks.

  • @MVPDJ1 The upgrade is over on the Adobe website & costs $599.00. As far as the editing you do on the Macbook, check to see the file format and video codec published are compatible with Premiere.

  • @MVPDJ1 Or i guess you could change the format of the clips right??

  • @mistered17 Nah, Cs4 reeks compared to 5, It was the whole Mp4 thing, everything is cool now.

  • off topic question, but I am looking at your desktop, how did you make a video of your desktop? Love your tutorials! Thanks

  • @conseler Thank you very much, I use Camtasia Studio.

  • @AdobEasyTips I really appreciate your answer! Thanks, again!

  • Definitely not. Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, I would consider the best.

  • my time line doesnt look like that and i cant drag the videos on it after i imported it can any one help???

  • @deutschlandyeah nvm it showed up some how

  • Ever try Avid Media Composer? Only all of Hollywood uses it. . .

  • Hello there. Been having one annoyance with Pr CS4 and am searching for help.

I'm having constant sync issues with this program, I import my mp4 video file, render it and then when it plays, it goes out of sync as forward as it goes, at the beginning it's perfectly sync'd, but as long as it goes the audio gets more advanced than the video and it gets terrible after a while.

Could you give some help or link to an mp4 importer or something?

    Thanks!

  • This video was very helpful to me as I haven't used Premiere for years, I just fancied getting back into it and this video has so far been the most helpful quick overview... Good work!

  • sony vegas is best

  • @proking23

    :D

  • Anyone know how to make the "beat impact" video effect found in the SNL short called "Jizz In My Pants" with either premiere of after effects?

  • Hi. I tried to do as this tutorial but when I played the video in Adobe Premiere the video and audio are not synchronized. The audio plays normally while the video stops or plays slowly.

  • @unguanime arggg thats happeninig to me also!!! i have no idea why...the audio is perfect and the video just stops or skips....so frustrating

  • What are your Camtasia settings when you captured the tutorial?

I noticed that you can zoom in and out, how do you do that?

Thank you for the tutorial. I enjoyed watching it. Cheers!

  • @hybridstar08 lolz... i was able to find a tutorial in here: ow. ly /1Mtg4

    problem solved! ^_^

    cheers!

  • @hybridstar08 yes Camtasia Studio, glad you found the answer! The software is great, very easy to use!

  • I got a Core 2 Quad 2.2Ghz, 2.0 GB ram and honestly this program so far this software has been nothing but a bad experience for me. It's so unstable and it keeps crashing and lagging it's crazy. I though Sony Vegas was bad for that thats why i brought this because i heard good things about it form a few online people but i see none of the goodness so far at all. Why?

  • @LFiers You need a better computer for video editing.

  • @acirak Haha so what exactly are you saying? Its only Sony Vegas and Adobe that fucks up on me so i doubt it's my computer. Anyway, care to share as to what is your definition of a 'better' computer is? What computer do you have?

  • @LFiers The computer I have sucks. It's a 1.83ghz, 512mb of ram. Granted, it's 9yo and it moves quite slow, but it has worked fine with Sony Vegas. Fortunately in the next few weeks I'll be purchasing a new PC. i7-930 (2.8ghz) processor, 12gb of ram, with an ssd, and an nvidia gtx260. I'll be using AP with my new PC. My point is, if you get a better, faster computer, then you won't experience such problems. I'd recommend doing some research and forum reading to better answer your quest.

  • @acirak Well how the hell does it work fine on yours? My computer is much more powerful than yours and its very unstable for me. Do even have the same versions? I got CS4 Premiere Pro. I heard that it the most unstable one too.

  • @LFiers video card Brah, I just upgraded and it fixed that exact problem i use vegas and premiere too. good luck man, if you want a link to the video card i got just message me.

  • Can import wmv video??

  • camtasia is all this in one

  • Check the description to this vid. I wrote a post on my blog about lag issues in Premiere. Any questions let me know. Cheers!

  • I have a question if you don't mind. when I import my video and start viewing it in the window on the top right, the video lags so much and it becomes very annoying to deal with. do you know by any chance why is that and if there's a way to fix it?? thnx in advance. P.S. I'm still new to using adobe premiere

  • The file of my movies is AVI format, which doesn't seem to be working when I try to import my movie files, so how would I go about changing this in order to make the files work?

  • YOU ARE AWESOME =)

    Thank you

  • Hey wil m2ts files work

  • hey how do u do the cloning effect using adobe premiere

  • How do you compare this to Sony Vegas Pro 9? Thanks for your help.

  • @flyingmonkeys96 I think for me anyway Vegas runs better - I have both and Premeire drags ass really bad, to the point that its pointless cuz the playback is WAY too latent. But, Premeire runs my Magic Bullet plug ins, and Sony Vegas 9 doesnt.......idk... I have a dual core processor with 4GB of DDR3 RAM, of course it could be faster, but jesus christ, i cant do anything with premeire.

***any help or suggestions are appreciated ;)

  • @NoThatEmo Thank you!

  • @einoros when you create your video in the beginning set the dimensions for what you need. By the way if you check out my After Effects vid I explain how to set up your vid for HD on YouTube. (different program but same parameters) Good Luck!

  • whats better, sony vegas or this?

  • I film my videos with an HD go pro and every time I try to import the MP4 video it only imports the sound. also what start up setting would you recommend for 1080i, 30 fps. If you could help me out it would be great

  • @xsk8terx1234 The codec in MP4 is not compatible with Premiere. They list a bunch that are but any file type that relies on an Apple codec doesn't work with the software.

  • @xsk8terx1234 I had the same problem with the gopro and premiere pro. I use PowerDirector to view the videos and convert them to h.264 for editing Premiere Pro. Depending on the amount of editing, you may be able to edit right in PowerDirector. Good Luck.

  • this is so complicated ill stick with sony vegas for now

  • thank you very much very informative video for beginners. helped me alot

  • @b33k3rz your welcome, glad to hear the vid is helpful!

  • np, i have a question. i want to export a project at 1920x1080, what codecs/settings should i choose when i export it?

  • @b33k3rz depends on where it's being viewed. I use MPEG2 or MPEG4. Usually using MPEG2 or H.264 codec.

  • i was playin with it and i think i hide the time line and everything how do i reset it bck to its original view

  • Hi AdobeEastTips thanks for the video! I was wondering why Adobe said "FileFormat not supported" when I tried to import a file from my sony DVD-RW?

Do you know what I can do to edit my video? Thanks!

  • @rzuhler sounds like an issue with the video codec. You might want to try some video ripping software then converting the file.

  • By chance a Sony DCR-DVD201 Camcorder?

  • @BarrykeNL I have a Sony DCR-DVD108 Camcorder. How do you import your video files?

  • if i already have after effects, is it worth getting this? thx!

  • @mrbojangles115 I like Premiere but I have to say Adobe After Effects is far more robust.

  • i have the same problem as everyone i got a powershot sx20 IS wich films in HD and when i drag my videos to adobe the image cuts and i dont know why... its the video card? o something like that?

  • HELP PLZ!!! when i imported my video and draged it to video thiny lol. when i play it it stops after about 1 second and even if you skip after the 1 second like at 0:32 it will still stop at 0:33

  • is this better than sony vegas?

  • i think sony vegas 9 pro best video editing software :) but not bad 5+ -_-

  • Hi When i imported and draged the clip it wont go past like 1 second with out repeating it please help!!!

  • oh ok

im actualy with mi uncle who knows alot about computer

    thansk aniway man

    :D

  • really good man

    really good tutorial

but when i drag mi vid

i only hear the audion but i dont see the image

i meen i see it but it cuts

  • Video file type or codec might not be compatible. It's hard to say by the info you posted.

  • Thanks man

  • very good video! keep working!

  • @tonycurione Thanks, I just said the same thing on your channel, your doing great stuff over there!

  • can anyone help me i have 12 videos and they are parts of each other and 1 of 12 I can get video but the rest of them i can get the video just the audio can anyone tell me how I can get the video since premiere only transferered the audio

  • thanks for this video, i just started using premiere at work and this gave me a good idea of how to get started. Much appreciated

  • Your welcome, thank you for the good feedback. Also wanted to say hello to everyone watching. You guys are making this Premiere vid very popular, really appreciate it!

  • i had downloaded the adode premiere pro cs4 but it is really slow, i saw all the requirements for windows vista and is ok what can i do??

  • Upgrade to Windows 7. Vista is not the best with Adobe software.

  • OVI!!!

  • that thx 4 the help,,,

  • I know that you touched on setting up the sequence & exporting, but I would love more detail on that. Specifically for getting the highest quality for Youtube. My youtube video quality sucks. I have a real hard time with getting it all set up right.

  • Check out one of my latest vids on After Effects. I mention in the beginning how to prepare your video for HD on YouTube. Different program, same rules.

  • Do you know how can I make a 3 video appears on a screen or 3 pictures something like that....it divides the screen into three? and coming from three directions?

  • Final Cut is better for me :)

  • this program is REALLY REALLY pissing me off, its NOT PLAYING ANYTHING i recorded... im about done with adobe.

  • I'm not with after effects xD

  • Your welcome, glad the vid was helpful!

  • hey, i know how to use the leave colour effect to isolate one colour, but i was wondering if there is a way to isolate two colours and have everything else black and white.

  • I would recommend using After Effects.

  • yay i got it to work i jsut changed my scratch settings to my documents and auido stayed the same

  • um nvm it worked for about 2minutes ... screw it im taking this program back lol also i found out i need 2.5 i nly have 2 on my computer

  • ok i got that understood now my problem is that my play bac is choppy or laggs i have it on the right settings for my flip mino HD but in play back it laggs =[

  • Could be a hardware issue or just resolution. Try lowering the percentage of the view in the window see if that helps.

  • how do i do that?

  • at the bottom of the window your viewing you should see a percentage 100% or lower, try lowering that so the view is smaller

  • nope i went all the way down to 10% and it plays then laggs

  • could be ram, video format, hard to say. possibly change your scratch disk settings. Google that for Premiere could give you some answers regarding performance issues.

  • for some reason my timeline wont show a sequence =[

  • Go to file, new, select sequence.

  • I already have a mac with the basic iMovie 09, but I'm thinking about buying a PC with not only this program but Adobe's Master Collection (cs4). And after this video I think its pretty clear that I need to buy that PC. Awesome video!

  • how come everytime i queue my video it always came out blurry..help please..what do i use to fix..my videos are not in HD

  • i have question! every time i export, my sound on the video doesnt show up. can u tell me how i can fix that?

  • Check out my other video for exporting, I mention having the audio and video boxes selected. That might be the issue your having.

  • Super! Loved your explanation.

  • thank you!

  • how do i view my project in a full screen, higher quality format without exporting it

  • You can view the project in Premiere at 100 percent, other than that you would have to export it.

  • Jonathan - very nice tutorial and I'm happy to subscribe. I went to your website as well. I'm on the verge of buying Pro CS4. I do a tremendous amount of jump cut editing with audio/title/caption additions in some of my videos, and since I've been working with HD footage, I've seen that editing is far more difficult in that regard. I'm hoping that CS4 can handle it, but you seem to have a high opinion of it, and I've liked working with Adobe Premier in the past. Wish me luck! :)

  • Thank you glad it helped. Yup CS4 can handle HD. CS5 is coming out this year, just to give you a heads up ;)

  • is this a free program???

  • 800 bucks

  • Haaaail no. $799 tops.

  • Whats the difference in this and after effects ? :)

  • Check out my blog, I answer a few questions about Premiere & mention After effects. Scroll down on the 1st page you'll see it. designsbyjonathan(dotcom)/blog

  • I want to know what's you PCs specs? Nvidia? 4GB RAM? Im building a PC for editing videos HD. I dont want my PC to freeze or lag me T.T

  • 4gb of ram, AMD makes the graphics card I'm using - ATI Mobility Radeon. Definitely focus on ram, hard drive space, processor, and video card. Those are some of the key ingredients to smooth editing.

  • I think I'll have... 4gb ram, nvidia geforce graphic card, intel core 2 duo. hard drive maybe Im buying an external hard drive... will this works? cuz I only need some space in the PC to edit the footage and then the final project will be saved in the external one.

  • I've just got this, but some of the videos I have imported, only show the mp3. So I get the audio but not the video. Why is this?

  • Could be something with the video file itself. I tell everyone to check to see your video file is using a compatible video codec.

  • why is there a red line above the timeline? thnx.

  • Would a dazzle capture card( the most basic one for $30) work with adome premiere cs4?

  • Hey

When i go to edit my video, in APP, it lags alot and is hard to add sound effects

  • what screen recording program did you use?

  • Camtasia Studio

  • @AdobEasyTips

which one is better cs4 or sony vegas?

  • I've seen Sony Vegas In action, I like Premiere Pro better. If your thinking about doing this professionally I would recommend Adobe, it's an industry leader, Final Cut as well I just happen to prefer Adobe's software.

  • if you have camtasia why dont you use that, as far as i can tell from this vid camtasia dus all that??.... but can you get a second video layer on camtasia and can you lower the opacity of the second vid layer?...(camtasia's awesome XD)

  • I use Camtasia for the tutorials, but for just video editing I use Premiere Pro. I prefer to use software from Adobe.

  • rr ryte...... but i canit afford premiere :L so can you have two video tracks on camtasia?

  • Thanks

  • 700 US $ and then an extra 200 if you want an upgrade...Cost alot but damn, is it worth it.

  • Is this better then sony vegas 9 or is it the same

  • Im a beginner with Premiere Pro and your video is helping me very much ! Thanks

  • wow, this reminds me of apples final cut pro xD

  • Am Recording at 30 frames per second used the same options as you.. why are my video laggin ? it doesn't Do it when i play it in VLC

  • Hard to say, could be a few things. Ram, video codec, video card issue, or just an error publishing. I would test other videos to see if it's a computer thing or software.

  • Comment removed

  • Upgrade to Windows 7, It's consumes less resources than Vista. That would be my best recommendation. 2 things that can help you, good memory and good operating system to run Premiere smoothly, okay good video card, computer too :)

  • Have you upgraded to Windows 7...? Looks like u have Vista? and are you always using the same sequence as u showed in the video?

  • I upgraded to 7 when it came out and it's a thousand times smoother with the Adobe programs. The projects will vary and so will the way the sequence appears. Look into the memory or platform issue if your experiencing lag in the program.
