Hey Danny, I saw this and I was so blown away I decided to purchase it for contest. I am 18 and have realized it is somewhat out of my league haha. I love the challenge but I was wondering if there are any sticking pointers you had! I can't count how many times I've tried to catch what you're doing. I am VERY close to emulating your approach to the solo so I would LOVE any help.
A world premier of Jonathan Anderson's new piece "Dancing Shadows" can be viewed from my profile. Performed most excellently by world renowned performer Hiromi Kamiya.
This is fantastic. I've been working on this piece for just about a month and I can't stop. Such a pleasant song and such a nice interpretation. Thanks for introducing it to me:)
Thank you all so very much for your interest. The solo is not published through innovative percussion under the title "Banafrit". It can be purchased anywhere innovative percussion is sold. Steve weiss is a good website for ordering it online. Hope you enjoy!
well, its funny you say that, danny and I both marched Phantom Regiment. At any rate, the solo is to be in stores by atleast February under the title "Banafrit". I hope you all enjoy.
dude u rock damit i wish i would of seen this earlier for my audition piece for the blue knights they would of even wowed me damit!!! o well this piece rocks and good playing too its rare to see people who artnt in cores to be this good!!!
Thank you for the interest, as previously stated I am the composer and I am currently working to get it published. Look sometime early to mid fall semester 2007 for it to be published through Innovative Percussion. It should be out by Pasic at the latest and purchasable there as well as online. Thank you again!
Hi Danny, well done! This piece sounds very well prepared. I would very much like to promote it also on my percussion website percussionmusiconline com Do you have any idea how I can get in contact with the composer/arranger? Best. TP.
Wow man, great piece and a helluva performance. If it comes out soon enough, I'll definitely buy it and play it for my senior recital next Spring. Can this be played on a 4 1/2 octave or does it need the full octave?
very nicely performed Danny. Jon did a great job writing the piece. so when are you going to see a canon in D-Basket on here. I havent heard that solo in ages!
that's a nice solo, i like it. in my opinion, it's very mark ford-esque.(that's a good thing) if you put it out for purchase i'd really like to get it.
Thank you all for the comments. My names Jonathan Anderson, or Jon Anderson as Danny put in the title. The piece has not been publish yet but I'm working on that right now. It is actualy not an improvisation, Danny played it note for note from whats written, so when I get it published this video is what you will get. Thanks again for the interest! I'll keep you guys posted.
That was truly a beautiful / badass piece! Great job Danny! And tell Jon that his arrangement is very impressive, especially the build towards the end! Good Lord!
What mallets were you using ? They looked like they belonged to the Robert Van Sice series . Were they ? If not, what were they ?
