I have been checking out your videos for a long time and you know your stuff.

I have been really happy with my Epiphone 1966 Sg and I loved my old Epiphone Les Paul Classic.

They really make great guitars and the price is even better.

The Dot is my next guitar and the black one just gets beter looking every time I see one.

just to let u know some epiphone are better then gibson and what the hell is wrong with them. this man is brilliant and dont need this. Ephiphone are brilliant and just listin. if u dont relize just how good of a sound that is u need to take the sh*t out of ur ears

You and I both love these Dots...you're the only other person I've seen who has both the Ebony Dot (except for seveertrebor) and the Alpine White Dot Studio. I have both and they are the perennial favorites (and most often played) of all of my guitars. You play very well too man.

i jsut bought one of these i get it tomorrow and now i started playing hendrix i was playing other blues but now hendrix has made me one that fat tone fo the fender strat again (had one before secretly missed it for while hah) so guess what gonna save and get one of thos in around 4-5 weeks :)

Yes. It came with amber bell knobs. I replaced them with black speed knobs.

I don't really care for trapeze tailpieces myself. But I don't know what the advantages or disadvantages are.

I live in Japan and have access to Japanese versions of Gibson ES335s I have tried the Epi Dot and was surprised at how much I liked it, and how little it costs. The Made In China Epi Dot does not cost as much as the Japanese 335 versions... Is there some hardware difference that makes say a Tokai WORTH $100 more than the Epi? or are they just banking on name and Gibson shaped headstock?

i really want to buy this guitar although i've read heaps of reviews on this guitar saying it doesn't stay in tune well at all and that its dodgy buying one because some sound great (like yours) and some sound rubbish ... and then other reviews say its excellent, although its a cheap guitar, only good for a beginner and the es-337 totally rips this one ...

what are your thoughts ??

Most tuning problems are caused by strings binding in the nut. This is easily corrected by filing the nut slots a little wider. As far as finding a good sounding DOT... you'll just have to try them out and see if you like 'em. I've never come across one I didn't like the sound of. : )

haha fair enough then. I've actually played a gibson es-355 or 337 or whatever its called lol and i found that great, and in your comparison video they sound pretty much the same ... guess ill go shopping soon :)

What does being made in the U.S mean? Doesnt make it any better ,Ibanez's high end models are made in Japan and have far better craftsmanship than some Gibsons. Besides , the Epiphone is just as good as the Gibson , the only thing different is the Headstock and Finish...exact same components. Gibson are like Nike trainers , cheap materials , but only expensive because of the NameTag!

Their official name is Epiphone DOT. But some people call 'em DOT 335. It's the same thing. Really, Really cool guitars for the price!!
