"Next Generation" Three Tenors at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics in a Global Harmony production that's expected to reach over a billion people. In the order of singing : Ramon Vargas - .07 to .27; Marcello Giordani - .28 to .46; and Salvatore Licitra - .47 to 1.08. Jonas Kaufmann did not show up, so Ramon Vargas also sang at the Great Hall with R.Fleming,S.Jo&D.Hvrostovsky. RV also did a duo concert with R.Fleming at the National Center for the Performing Arts. Any from the other gigs? Thanks.
@sunnydlita You are welcome, I actually got the info by chance, browsing through the Olympics section of a Chinese daily (English edition). Was this at the 10,000 -seat main auditorium? The audience enjoyed very much Licitra singing in Chinese. How was the rest of the program received? If the 3 Tenors performed Beijing favorite, Nessun Dorma, will appreciate it very much if you could post it with the reaction of the entire house.
@danbar73 I don't know if there are other auditoriums inside the Great Hall, but it did seem like the main one, right in the middle of the building after the top of the steps. I think the people seemed to enjoy the concert. I think these are the only recordings I have, but if I have any more I'll upload them.
@sunnydlita You are absolutely right; that is the main hall. I thought so too, but when I was watching the Licitra video I noticed that the edge of the balcony in the back is not that far from the stage for the place to hold 10,000. It was just an optical illusion. Whatever you upload from this event will be very much appreciated.
