Don't worry, bro, about all the chippy comments. I found your video very entertaining. I'll be trying my installation in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck.
@road5ter86 The top does NOT need to come off the car. Read more about this in my written instruction on Miata.net.. Garage.. Tops: Illustrated Top Instructions.
@EdBossaNova What a huge sense of entitlement you have. This time lapse video was featured for a month on the front page of Miata.net. They understood the “point” that this not an instructional video.
Do-it-yourselfers one important thing to remember is that the "rain rail" should be intact; no cracks , splits or damage, if so you'll get water in the trunk even with a new top, the rain rail can be repaired or replaced. If you know what your doing it should take between 3-4 hours to complete the entire install. Take it to a pro and get the "budget top" or the hard glass replacement for between 500-600 installed.
CruzinChris, why oh why didn't you do a tutorial on this? I've been looking around for this very thing, but I can't tell what's going on with your vid. I've got a '94 Miata, and am a bit afeered that I'm going to hit a bad snag somewhere. I do have instructions, but a nice video makes all the difference in the world.
i wish i was that fast , i worked around 7 hours on it today and im not done, im stuck on the tenssiner cables, everything is uneven, .... sigh ... is gonna be a long day tomo...
My Dad just got a new top for our 1993Mazda Miata. Do you know where we can download instructions from? He's never replaced a top for a mazda before, just about 30 years ago for his old MG Midget. Thanks.
oh hay! that looks like it was hard work !! how much would you charge someone for that work?? Im' just curious...i need my mustang top replaced and im' having a hell of a time finding a fair price...:3
Hello....Great video!!!! I purchased a Mazda Miata 95 and I need to replace the soft top..but I know nothing about MIATAS...I tried to see what my options are but there are just too many...I wanted to ask you where did you buy that top and what kind is it?..I have more questions but let me know if I can write you about them.....
You can't prevent a real pro from entering your car -- convertible or not. Alarms don't work unless YOU can hear it and call the cops or intervene. What you should do is not leave anything in the interior of the car in plain sight like CDs or mounts for equipment like iPods and GPS.
Dude do mine... I'll give you beer man....
