This "expert" literally has not got the foggiest clue about physics. He got Newtons' second law wrong and does not understand what a force is. Good job.
Try breaking two stacked (no spacers) red building bricks, holding one end in your hand with the other end on the ground at a 45 degree angle. These kind of videos are physics demonstrations, nothing more.
@MrMago11 the pipes in between allow the blocks to break otherwise it would be like smacking a giant block of granite and everybody is going to break under that kind of pressure
When you're able to break one, you'll be able to break alot of them, just look up video's of people breaking stacks of ice blocks, bricks, and so on... It's not that superhuman at all actually... Almost everyone can do it within 1/2/3 years of focussing on breaking only... The thing is, most people don't only focus on breaking but also on fighting with martial arts :P
I think this might be fake because the boards i break only take around 200 to 300 pounds of force ... they said little over 300 pounds of force. These are probably bad bricks
You stated he isn't exerting 2,700lbs of force in one instance. The concrete blocks are only 1 inch apart from each other. It doesn't make a difference. This martial artist broke the stack easily, so therefore he exerted more than 2,700lbs despit it takes 2,700lbs to go through 9 concrete blocks.
It takes 300lbs of force to break each block of concrete. The math problem would be 300x9= 2,700lbs of force needed to break all nine blocks of concrete.
@Ltb0b The blocks don't need to be a single block. Each block needs 300lbs of force to break! If he was to add more concrete blocks, then he would need to more force to break them. I've seen other martial artist trying to break 17 blocks. They only make it 1/4 through the stack.
@XXBruceLee but just trying to point out hes actually breaking them individually at the same time he is not exerting 2,700 pounds of force in one instance. What do you mean by "I've seen other martial artist trying the break 17 blocks but only make through 1/4" are you trying to same it was the same circumstances as this? the block adsorbed the guy's momentum rather then weight applied
@Ltb0b Drew Serrano, made an attmept to break 17 blocks of concrete, and each block takes 300lbs of force to break. He only broke 12 out of 17 blocks. This means he only put 3,500lbs of force into his strike. If you were only able to exert 600lbs, you'll only will break 2 blocks. I break concrete myself, without the spacers and their is no difference. Now if the blocks were 2 inches thick then he would need 675lbs of force to break each block. You need for force to break. F=M X A=.
@Ltb0b This has been tested in a lab many times, from martial artist. You're making yourself look like an, asshole. He can't break blocks of concrete individually.
@XXBruceLee what your trying to say is that he can't breaks the blocks individually? uhh what? anyways whats your trying to explain to me is that he exerted 3,500 pounds or 1.75 tons for force onto the single block then again the the 2nd and again in a single strike.. also if you may try to break the concrete sidewalk that would be much obliged as so I'm not trying to be a "asshole" just general question I too have studied martial arts for abit of interest sorry if this offended you.
@Ltb0b Also as with the inertia = momentum x acceleration momentum is kilos x metres per second and acceleration is the change of speed slopes etc... but I really don't know I haven't studied physics yet also what kind of martial arts do you study just wondering out of curiosity :)
@Ltb0b Momentum is speed. Force= Mass X Acceleration. You mean 3.5 tons, not 1.75 tons. It isn't impossible to exert that kind of force. It doesn't make any sense, that he is break them individually. Using spacers dosen't mean he's breaking them individually. Drew Serrano, only exerted 3,500lbs. This means to break 12 blocks of concrete. You need to exert 3,500lbs of force. This also means he need another 500lbs to break the last 5 blocks.
@Ltb0b You also need to know, that is is very possible to break the law of physics. A baby weighing 10lbs, and traveling at 10mph will exert 300lbs of force. 10 X 10= 300lbs. 300lbs= 138kg.
@Ltb0b In order to exert this kind of force. You need large amount of acceleration. Their are extremely fast martial artist out there. I break concrete bricks, that are 2 inch thick. They take 675lbs of force to break them. I've broken two of them, without any spacers.
@XXBruceLee I'm not saying its not impossible to break it and I'm also saying its not exactly to that since the spacers act within a reasonable amount to favor the breaker
@aznkeo12 Nop they areant. Its just aerated concrete, its breaks easily (its 90% air and doesnt take any loads). Wooden boards are split along the grain. The hardest things to break are chipboards, plywood, decent bricks and ice. All of them are doable with conditioning that wont take more than a couple months of training. Breaking aerated concrete is a piece of piss, go to any store that sell it and try it out. Proper concrete cannot be broken by hand unless its flawed.
@Buuub08 oh lol. well i remember breeakin my first peice of wood back wen i took TKD ( wich i did not like ) i thought it was going to be hard but wen i hit it, it split so easly and perfect.
@aznkeo12 Yep, thats splitting along the grain. Splitting a piece of wood perpendicular to the grain is nearly impossible to do by hand. Also note that some types of wood are far stronger than others. Which is why we used chipboard, its uniform, dense, strong and lacks any obvious flaw points. Mimics bone to an extent. Oh and old furniture provided an endless source of it lol.
Id like to see anyone break proper concrete not aerated concrete. Seriously, anyone with a bit of conditioning can break aerated concrete blocks, those things are like 90% air. 200kg of force is far more than is needed to break them and is nowhere close to break any major bones. Anyone can do this, if youre afraid to break something just put a towel on the block and strike with your elbow. The more you weight the more force you generate - why all of those "superhumans" are overweight.
Ive been in martial arts my whole life. Breaking aerated concrete is FAR easier than chipboard of identical thickness. It just sounds tough when you leave the AERATED out of the statement of what you are breaking. Wont sound tough when you actually admit that 90% of what you are breaking is plain air.
Good to see that there is a martial artist out there who isn't afraid to tell the truth about board breaking. That's not to say that there are many strong people out there.
@Gronarix yeah m8, it just pisses me off when some fat fucks claim superhuman abilities when they cant even admit to what they are actually breaking and the physics behind it. Its like a cheap street magician trick.
:45 newtons second law is Force = Mass x Acceleration. Newtons third law is Action-reaction pairs. he should have just saw "according to one of newton's laws .........."
@TheBurgooKing That thing on his arm is how the guy from the university was measuring the force and speed generated, if you look there are wires coming out of it leading back to the laptop. But still, I'd like to see him try it without the spacer bars between each block ;)
btw, over 200kgs of force? sorry im not a rocket scientist, but this guy doesint weigh over 200 kgs, so how could apply more force than he has,he jumped 1 inch, there is no momentum gained in 1 inch of fall... and it doesint take fucking 200 kgs to break 1 brick. this whole thing is bullshit, and you people are sheep
and this did the ottomans in that time they smacked their hands on marmor for a couple hours long everyday so they could smack down enemy horses k.o in battle let alone a man thats why they feared those people in that time
what does it matter that it weighs 20 stone? he's not lifting it, if anything the weight will make things easier as the heavy it gets, the less able it is to withstand any additional weight or pressure
because it makes it sound like it takes strenght.... doesint matter if theres 1 brick or 1000 bricks. you break one and the rest will break. as far as breaking the brick, with that lenght between center and that thickness, a 12 yr old girl could do this if she tried.
It is still all in the mind no matter what! I have seen people who should have been able to break a brick or board just by sneezing on it. And yet they failed when they struck it. I was in a tournament in Rock Island where a guy cut his head open on 2 blocks. My turn came up, I had 5 blocks set up, everyone got up to watch me becuase they expected the worse. I easily broke them with my head. Your adrenaline works off the crowd. Some days it's easy some days it's not...it IS all in your mind!
2:37 actually it's the precision hit. You concentrate maximum force into minimal area--the weight, speed, and force is concentrated into a tiny spot where it can exceed the strength of the material it's hitting. Calcifying your bones helps, but is no mandate.
My mother, at 45, could break two concrete slabs with a simple elbow strike. At 18 I'd reached four.
I cansoda to see this kind of nonsense where it appears that the person has super powers or something, this has nothing to do with the supernatural is simple physics.
IF YOU ARE NOT IN MARTIAL ARTS YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT BREAKING IS ALL ABOUT. So quit talking about the spacers and that the first one to break will break the next one, like dominoes. If that were the case, then he could just break the first one and walk away and the stack would break itself. If that were true then when you put a stack of 10 and only 8 break...what happened? It's all about follow through, focus, timing and technique. You have to hit dead center to go through al the way.
Well alot off people can do that as long as you have refined your bones the reason why he broke all that very easily is because the conctrete slab could not absorb the force of the impact so then it shatered
@chucktaylortraxxas errrm no... When I was training karate when I was younger at my brown belt stage I was taught how to break this slate type blocks with my hand without injury and my record was a stack of 5 but when I tried to beat it with a stack of 7, 5 broke so I had to wipe of the 5 then do a quick blow to break the other 2.
he cheated pushing down on the COncrete blocks! wutta bunch of Bullocks Mate!

Kilograms are not a measurement of force... should be Newtons.

@SirHanger18 its kgf, sort of transformation of Newtons into kilograms.

@Durkie52 hell, those people are so wrong...the spacers make it harder (at least in my experience), dissipate the energy of the force.
redreaper2020 1 month ago
Well alot off people can do that as long as you have refined your bones the reason why he broke all that very easily is because the conctrete slab could not absorb the force of the impact so then it shatered

@chucktaylortraxxas errrm no... When I was training karate when I was younger at my brown belt stage I was taught how to break this slate type blocks with my hand without injury and my record was a stack of 5 but when I tried to beat it with a stack of 7, 5 broke so I had to wipe of the 5 then do a quick blow to break the other 2.
