  • from " GET SMART " the final season ( on CBS only ) R.I.P. Leonard Stern

  • This closing also showed up for the second season of "The Good Guys" with Bob Denver and Herb Edleman. Lots of the production staff from both shows would end up the next year over at the new MTM Productions working on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show".

  • From "Get Smart"

  • the all seeing eye , scary CBS

  • When "GET SMART" moved to CBS in the fall of '69, they "bought" the series (and copyright) from Leonard Stern and Talent Associates, who produced it with the network. Because of this, there were certain restrictions in syndicating the last season; only 6 of the 26 episodes in season five were "cleared" with the first four [NBC] seasons- the rest had to be "tallied" by the local stations because those 20 episodes could be aired only three times in each "run", for "residual reasons", I believe...

  • thats right i remember back in the 70s watching the reruns on KCOP 13 and always wondered why there werent many of the final season till 92 when nick at night ran all the episodes and all of a sudden there were episodes i never seen before cant wait till they are released to retailers on dvd

  • I should've known!! From "Get Smart".

  • Right. This was from that series' final season when it moved from NBC to CBS.

  • ... because the NBC Television Network sold his synidie arm, speciffically NBC Films, to the NTA in 1973 due to the FCC rules. Don't forget the cases of ABC Films and Viacom Enterprises (formerly CBS Films).

  • Excuses, is "its syndie arm".

  • Right.
