Sean is putting in some twists and turns on the drums in this performance. I like it. I always thought he was underrated by the power of Layne's voice and the brilliance of Jerry's guitar.
Man it makes me sad to watch this, seeing Layne young and energetic, thrashing his head. If you take a look at videos from 1995 of him, he can barely move, and is so frail. Drugs make a person a walking dead man!
@Drummerthatismetal actually, it's grunge. Metallica, Megadeth, Maiden and Slayer is metal. If you, and the peepz who thumbs up'd you honestly can't tell the difference, something is definitely WRONG.
@iloveskins96 Being from Seattle alone doesnt make a band grunge. Grunge is a derivative of hardcore punk, and not all grunge bands came from Seattle. Alice in Chains was more metal inspired then they were punk, buty they DID have a grunge element in their music.
@Drummerthatismetal Alice, like Tad, and Soundgarden was more metal inspired tha punk, like many other bands in Seattle, this is true, but they did have a grunge element in many of their songs. Such as down in a hole, Rooster, and No Exuses ect. btw, grunge was inspired also by heavy metal bands like black sabbath. AIC would be a perfect exapmle of this. Sure, the wernt full grunge, but to say they werent part of the grunge movemnet, and that there wasnt grunge in any of their songs iswrong IMHO
If one day I'm 90 years old in a nursing home and only seconds away from death, and am conscious of my situation, I want THIS song playing so I can rock out, literally.
bro, we got everything you can imagine. and yes the metal scene is thriving. ritt mentioned our nightclubs, something he fails to realize is many of them are completely devoted to hard rock/metal acts.
Yeah, the unplugged was pretty fucked up, in a cool way though. I like the rough edge the cocaine can give a voice. I really like the singing from the Dirt period, way more clean.
Great version of this song. I like the intro. You don't see Layne introduce many songs during their live career. Too bad he died Young no pun intended there.
dirt 4 times platinum. before they quit touring they were outselling freakin Nirvana. Heroin got its hooks into alot of seattle bands when they were young and that sux.
You can say that again. Why can't Nickelback and Fall Out Boy start doing heroin? Why can't Chad Kroeger just start dating Bobby Brown and become a crackhead like Whitney? Just fucking go away Nickelback!!!
Now, THIS is music :)

@kyle8769. The drugs Layne did absolutely ruined is sensational voice that he once had.
I'm sure Layne couldn't have sang like this in 96 like he did here.
