Get your jigsaw out and saw a hole in the lid. Technically your warranty should be OK since it only states it's void if the seal is removed. 73!

I just went ahead, removed the sticker and the screws, and installed the batteries. Worked flawlessly until I sold my FT-817. 73 de KC5JLA.
