This anchor, Lisa Green, continues to grow in the Fargo market. She's gained at least 50 pounds since this telecast. It's ironic, because she was hired for her sex appeal replacing a very competent anchor, Ryan Vipond.
I spent the winter of '08-'09 working outside as a laborer on a construction project north of Bismarck ND. Every week it was like this for a couple months. The concrete froze on it's way out of the truck. Everything got screwed up. Heavy equipment had to be heated round the clock and if your socks were anything but completely dry you would get frostbite through your Thinsulate boots. I grew up on an outdoor hockey rink in Minnesota so I was one of the few guys that didn't mind it that much.
that isn't the coldest it gets here. it's going to be -30 tonight and if the wind blows we will have -50 wind chills. this is not uncommon in ND winters.
This is the reason why some people are scared away from ND.
It's a shame, considering that it's such a stellar state.

It looks like it got so cold, that the maps went to a regular green at -20 and then wrapped around with hot (or high elevation?) colors.
I'm surprised that happens at such a high temperature, considering the part of the country. -20 in ND in February uses up the color scale? Really?
