You people do realize that the title of this video is HIS favorite movies and not the greatest movies of all time right? So what, maybe Back to the Future is his favorite movie, but Showgirls is one of my favorites(guilty pleasure if you will) and even I can admit that, that movie is fucking terrible. It's all subjective people, it's all SUBJECTIVE.
Really glad to see heat in the top 5 a truly amazing film. But shawshank redemption was way to low thats one of the greatest movies of all time. But its your list not mine.
@ Bill1992Munny Did you really just bash on Back to the Future? Sorry, but some people actually have good taste in film and don't just like those crap parodies or dumb horror flicks nowadays. I guess you weren't the age of reason when Back to the Future came out. Name any movie that is better than BTTF and if you say The Dark Knight or Avatar, I will punch you in the face through my computer screen.
@Rorschach1030 Um, its his FAVORITE movies. These aren't the best movies ever. Also, Back to the future is a bit better than good, its fuckin' BRILLIANT!!
k. Reservoir dogs and No country for old men are good, but where is Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, or the Kill Bills? you realize that those movies are PIECES OF ART! you gotta admit. just see em, but kill bill'd be like 20. Donnie Darko and Pulp Fiction are easily 1-5
No scarface? Or seven samurai? And I applaud oldboy's inclusion! But if you liked that you might like bitter sweet life(another korean movie). And there is a better war movie than saving private ryan......tae guk gi - brotherhood of war. A kroean movie about the korean war. Heart wrenching. If you haven't seen these 2, check them out!
so these are movies that you could just watch over and over again. it looks like to me you just tried to name the movies eveyone knows and thinks are great, cept for a few, alos most of them are a watch once type of film
Or maybe I just watch great movies instead of ones with nothing but entertainment value? They are obviously not a "watch one" for me. What the heck would I gain by lying about my favorite movies?
so you are saying that you could watch the godfather everyday for the rest of your life. what im tryin to say is that your list seems just way to generic and some of the picks seem a bit unbelievable fo a 15 yo kid. or you just picked what everyone says are great films. What im tryin to say is that you could have had fun with your list. Just looked like you were tryin to say look im 15 and know what a good film is(if you kinda understand what im sayin)
whatever i quess im beein a dick, you know what ill make a list one day and you can bash mine
In my oppion The Dark Knight was great the first time after that it just got kinda boring and to me its way to overated Batman Begins is so much better and if you think about it if the Joker wasnt in it The Dark Knight wouldnt be that popular or good.Think about it.
@rabbids25 Batman Begins is boring. Dark Knight's like Wrath of Khan in that its so much more entertaining than the first movie. Batman Begins is boring like Star Trek: The Motion Picture in that you watch it and think to yourself "Fuck sakes! Do something!" Dark Knight is the better movie.
@MetaPunkXP not true, batman begins was better and is the best super hero movie ever made, the dark knight does hold a throne for me, most over rated movie of all time!
@LegoLee329 No, Dark Knight is the best comic book movie of all time. Just interview millions of comic book fans and they'll either say their fav comic book film is Iron Man or Dark Knight. Batman Begins is very dull. Easily Nolan's weakest movie.
you know, not a single one of those movies is on Hulu, which i find quite annoying since i'm trapped in my house with nothing to watch and i've been checking out movies online lately and i thought, hey! i'll look at groundedforlife's top 40 movie list! but no they're not there.... sigh
but i did see a great movie on there the other day called "Deeply" although idk if many guys would enjoy it...... it's a very very sad touching movie but i loved it.
Saw should be on their. It's the most in-depths horror film series I've ever seen. Aside from that, it's creative and you never know how it's going to end.
It's like a thrill ride in video form, basically.
People say it's too hard to follow, but it really isn't if you have half a brain. You do, however, learn new things every time you watch each movie again.
I used the wrong 'there'. I should have said 'there' instead of 'their'. I understand my grammatical error and don't want to leave myself open to criticism.
30. Fight Club (1999) - 10/10 31. The Truman Show (1995) - 9/10 32. Lost in Translation (2003) - NS 33. Notes on a Scandal (2006) - NS 34. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - 7.5/10 35. my bad. I just choose the same stupud song from audio swap on each slideshow because my itunes wont work on movie maker and I don't have the nergy to listen to any others.
I think i know why it won't let you transfer itunes material onto movie maker. I had a problem like that, it was because it was the wrong file type. Movie maker might reject the song because when audio comes straight off your CD it will be a file type not accessible with movie maker. Through itunes you can convert it (Songs from CD's are usually Mp4's) to another file type.
after that go to the song you want to use; right click on it and choose "Create WAV Version". After a copy is made into a WAV version drag it into a file (like music file or videos something like that) because you can't go directly from Itunes into Movie Maker. Then from the file drag the WAV song into Movie Maker.
Glad to see that back to the future is still your # 1, that movie is the best movie in the history of movies. P.S. - Rocky part 1 is pretty dam good as well although not on your list.
good list, even thought it saddens me to see the dark knight lowered. omg i love the ox-bow incident, its so underrated. where did curious case of benajmin button go?
That said, it leans toward modern and domestic films a little too much for my taste, but hey, that's just me.
By the way, if you liked City Lights, check out The Kid (1921). It's the superior film, in my opinion. I would also strongly recommend viewing The Gold Rush (1925); that one has some iconic cinematic moments.
wow. City Lights, The Conversation, and Elephant are all movies i wasnt expecting to see on here. very good choices, but i will have to disagree with you on The Shining. its a great movie, but in my opinion Kubrick's best movie is a tie between A Clockwork Orange and 2001. good list though
I pretty much agree totally with your list. But am I the only one in the world who DOESN'T like Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine, and the Insider? Oh well. Other than that your picks are great. Iove Back to the Future as well. By the way, how do you feel about Back to the Future Parts 2 and 3? I like them, but I don't think that they can match the magic of the original.
I feel the same way, cinemaconnection1. I rated the movie 6/10 on IMDb. I listen to an excellent movie podcast called "Battleship Pretension," and they've discussed the Fight Club issue at length (especially in episode 106). Both hosts agree with you and me in thinking it's good, but generally overrated.
