belive it or not i know his 13 year old daughter named kayla caballero and i have a autograph from him ive seen him in person hes daugher goes to Cambell Middle School CA
I rode street because i wanted to, not because George told me i had too. I know i wasn't very good at it, but i sure loved learning new tricks while i spent time doing it. The only reason i was able to stay on Powell, not having to leave the company at that time, was i had a signature shoe which kept me making money, the others didn't, so they had no choice but to leave and start other things. get your facts straight before you start spewing your nonsense around here:(
@Steviecabvideos i've always liked you skating street and as a matter of fact, want to see you doing it more. ...takes me all the way back to the "animal chin" days and you've got the style, man. you rip.
Cab is a ruler. The fact that he can punish vert and street so much is a testament to what a great skater he was (is?). But I do have to say that noseslide at the start of his part is pretty hideous. Especially when his hind foot is resting half off the board when he lands. Still Suburban Diners was a rad vid and Cab is the man.
it sucks seeing Cab have to conform to the techie street dominated scene of the fucked up 90's to satisfy the hungry George Powell corporation...Companies were dropping vert skaters left and right if they didn't start skating "techie street" like this...and even dressing a certain way!! Booo!! Pretty lame era in skateboarding...
but also in a way, it made him one of the greatest skateboarders to ever live. he did the bowls of the 70's to early eighties, the vert scene of the eighties, and then did street in the ninties, while still being able to rip vert, and now he's mastered the concrete parks of today. he's done it all, and this part just added to his legacy.
@cremefresche i have to respectfully disagree the 90's is a very important decade in skating we saw so many legends of today come from that era, thats the era that street skating got big and it changed the game. i don't think it is sad to see cab doing street it just showed you how diverse of a skater he is. and to say vert skating was dying maybe in the early 90's but come the mid to late 90's it had a huge resurgence thanks to the xgames i am very thankful for the 90's and i miss those times
@cremefresche I saw this vid at ccs in SLO on a skate pilgrimage at 20... hung out with some cool east coast street kids on the rise...
believe me, cab knows trannies, and enjoyed street like any youthful man...
You sound like my little brother, and every other hyper critical tightass at the time. Just saying... we probably even skated together at one point. :)
@cremefresche even tho vert was slowly dieing, there were still some vert skaters like danny way or colin mckay, they were the 90's vert skaters even tho they did a little bit of street. and its skateboarding man, if you have no skate ramp or skate park, what can you do. thats why we have street skating.
they should of used the faction for the music other then that great vid and awsome skating stevie is amazing i brought 1 of his old school style boards its awsome
I have been rocking half cabs since the mid 90s, best skate shoe ever.

I don't really view cab as a "Techie Street" i mean his part in the bones bearings video was him boardsliding a 44 stair handrail.

considering some of the shitty parts that were comin out, cabs part holds up to the test of time. good style

if you think about it all old school skaters are damn all rounded
they can skate street vert and a few of them also could do freestyle
