hey now...I didn't write the article...I only do human intrest stories, Rotary, Health Dept, Ext Office and my own personal column, Pebbles and Ripples...both sides were presented in our paper...the womans letter, and that it was her husband that intially called the warden, and then the wardens side...I'm not biased...I had a friend attacked by a pit bull, and they don't let go, he says it was loose, no one was there, but him, he's an officer of the court, and human life is more important.

I wasn't there...and yes the video portrays a nice dog...but apparently husband and wife were not on the same page...he saw a menacing dog, thus called it in as a threat to his family, it was reported to our paper, and she saw it as we see on the video...and made arrangements for the pound, which that wouldve been great, I don't like to see any animal put down, or given a second chance...but when the warden came, as he said, it was portrayed again as a threat to the community...end of story.

It's quite clear when you read the stories that they dubbed the dog as possibly aggressive simply based on her being a pit. This believe alters a person interruption of that animal's behavior. Pits are made out to be an aggressive breed when they score higher on their disposition than golden retrievers. They aren't know as the nanny dogs for nothing.

the dogs were not ill...she was a stray that suposedly wandered in and happend to have pups under the said vehicle ...a stray is a stray...I'm glad our animal shelter was willing to bend the rules and take them in had they made it here...but as the woman in our Levisa column stated...she was not on site when the dog supposedly attacked the warden...a warden is a warden...he has a job to do...and human life is more important than animal, if the dog attacked...he was with in his rights.

If Bill Richards attempted to sedate and remove the dog and it attacked him several times then it sounds to me like he did exactly what the law calls for him to do. No one is going to let a dog attack them, especially a trained official that works directly with animal control. As for the Magoffin County dog warden, he has never had a ill word to say about the Lawrence County Animal Shelter or Connie. Anyone that says they witnessed Connie doing such cruel things are liars.

OK. so what actually happened was the puppies were extremely sick. The humane society was called in to try and save the puppies, when the officer arrived he was attacked. He attempted to sedate the dog, but it failed and the dog attacked him again. In an effort to get away, he shot the dog. Three of the puppies were already deceased when the humane society arrived. This is sourced directly from our animal control officials in Magoffin County, they take our strays there. They are breaking the law and need prosecuted. The staff there thats doing this is named Connie, she makes derogatory comments to these animals as she's killing them. This all comes straight from a first hand witness.
