Looks like a pretty good chest work out! One thing though, the last exercise would be a Prone Pushup w/ Band. Supine would be lying on your back. Good stuff regardless!
hey thanks for the workout, i just started working on my chest with mostly bench presses and dive bombers and dips and i just can't get rid of some of the fat on one side of my chest, could that be because of the way my body burns fat? or am i doing something worng?
Good tips on this channel, glad I subbed.. I learn a tip or 2 from everyone. But basically, I like the Max OT system, which is not very far off from this. Heavy weights, 4-6 reps, 6-8 sets, 1/week. Short, sweet & very effective.
not hatin either channel but twinmuscleworkout (hodge twins) say weighted dips and especially weighted dips and stretching past 90 degree is going to SNAP YOUR SHIT UP.
do your shoulders ever hurt while /after doing weighted dips? I quit doing them a while back for fear of damaging my shoulder.. I usually go as far down as possible.. which is probably what caused the pain. Even when I tried to only go down to parallel it still would hurt though.
I'm 6'3 and have some really broad shoulders if that means anything.
Yo elliott, I know you mostly do videos on exercises and performance training but i have a nutrition question. I was watching one of your videos about eliminating all grains and sugars. I was reading up on it online and found many websites were explaining how humans werent designed to eat grains and when we started agriculture and moved more away from hunting we became weaker, shorter, shit teeth ect. did you start the no grain/sugar diet yet? would you do a video on it? do you recommend it?
yo elliot doesn't incline presses tighten pec minor which leads to shrug position?
and how do u crave a line down your chest without making them bigger i heard that upper chest workouts would do the tick but i am worried about getting into shrug position after tightening upper chest muscles
yo elliott! is there a difference between 6-8 repetitions and the common 12 reps? thanks for the reply bro. by the way, nice vids you got there. had me subscribed coz of the incredible vids you have. keep it coming bro. :)
i could be wrong but, I always thought the type of dips you did in the video had more of an emphasis on the tri's, whereas when you are more horizontal, the emphasis is more on the chest.
@crotchrockett004 well... 6-8 is kinda hybrid, its between strength and muscle building. most pure muscle building programs revolve around 8-12 + reps.
@strengthcamp Do you think it's safe to squat everyday if i'm trying to get really strong legs? Because i saw a workout program that has them squatting to a max everyday and have had huge gains.
@MerchAllDay probly not - i got "injured" from squatting twice a week - hamstrings/ quads got tight / i didnt stretch enough/ over trained / an my knee cap started tracking wrong- had to do physical therapy - was annoying- just a suggestion - i was doing a high rep program and didn't stretch and it screwed me over
yo Elliott! .... i have a question for you i hope you'll answer im looking forward to join the football team at university so do you have any workout vids? and one more thing is it bad if i workout the same thing twice a day i only take a break to eat then i go back to the swimming pool for a couple of hours and then i hit the weights again is it bad? also i wanna gain strength and muscle at the same time is it possible ? i hope u'll answer since u seem to know a lot and i can use that!
@kikefaris Go back thru the comments on this. He already said that this was the second time today he did this workout, and he said the first time he did high rep range. He also explains in his comments to other people that high rep is for muscle building while the low rep is strength, so yeah. You should be good with both.
HOLY SHIT ELIOT WHY ARE YOU LOCKING OUT ON YOUR MOVEMENTS? ALL THE KIDS HERE WATCHING ARE NOW GONNA TAKE YOUR "EXAMPLES" AND DO THEM IN THE GYM THEMSELVES....NOT GOOD!
@strengthcamp Locking out puts alot of pressure on your tendons/joints, elbow and knee problems is what you do not want in life. And it also allows the targeted muscle to "relax", thus the tension is gone, keeping constant tension on the muscle without putting pressure on the joints is what any lifting athelete should be mastering before having the "progressive overload" mindset. Well except a powerlifter/strongman as they just move heavy weight.
Those dips are looking good. I hold the dumbbell the same way when doing wide grip pullups for back but it always fucks up my right lat. Got any advice?
yep, im lovin these recent workout vids, givin me good ideas to change up my rountine, keep em comin, reli lookin fwd to some wrist/forearm workout, and ah ab routine.....thx, and keep up the good work!
@Ottesen23 yea, i actually took longer in between sets for this workout... closer to 2 mins. but this was my second workout for the day... earlier i did the same one with much higher reps.
So what is it about 6 and 8 reps that you like? I've heard different reasons for different rep and set numbers, but why do YOU choose 6-8 reps and 4 sets? Just curious.
@MurryFolt i've gotten good results with it. up until now most of my work for the past 4 years has been focused on strength, not muscle building. 4 sets of 6 is a common range for strength. but i still use it with these workouts
@strengthcamp Thank you for the response. I had heard that old school bodybuilders liked 5 reps because it was good for strength and size, and 6 was right next to that.
So what is it about 6 and 8 reps that you like? I've heard different reasons for different rep and set numbers, but why do YOU choose 6/6-8 reps and 4 sets? Just curious.
@cfcjt93 Finally, a reasonable and intelligent answer.
I usually don't hear people advise 4 sets or 6 reps, so it was a little unusual for me. I hear people advise 3 sets a lot; and for reps usually 5 or 8-12 or something. Elliott's chosen numbers were just unique from everything I've seen. Though I personally like the rep range, I use it a lot.
@Trampathon you work your forearms in bicep curls, chin ups, etc. but if u realy want SPECIFIC forearm stuff do wrist curls or something. im not elliot obvs but im just saying ;) also powerballs are v.good, and eagle catchers
@Trampathon Pretty sure he already said that whatever makes you hold a firm grip such as deadlifts will make your forearms stronger. Also hammer curls.
