  • A shame such a talent has left us. This and "real motha for ya" have to be my favourite johnny tracks.... what a versatile talent he was from this skin tingling track to the real heavy funk tracks. The words to this still feel heart felt when he sings them, a true wordsmith, a true genius. RIP x

  • JOHNNY GUITAR WATSON was simply the greatest 'natural' songwriter ,rapper and showman of all time!!!! It is a shame that your contribution to funk/soul/r&b/blues/rap music and greatness was never truly acknowledged by the music industry.I wish I had the opportunity of seeing you live. Anyway your music will live in our hearts forever. Thank you, and thank you brother

  • He died on stage in Japan 96.

  • This was one of the most unfortunate things, that could ever have happened to us.

  • I do know, why this happened.

The main reason for this, is that this man did socialise with some wrong people in Paris before, which should not have happened.

his sound ,talent and music was unic, we will never get something like this again.

Johnny hitting the keyboard made me goose bumbs all over. in his studio recordings he played every instrument by himself. what a big loss u r my friend Johnny RIP
