I wonder if they have ever taken one of these gyroscopes with them in the space shuttle? If I was a shuttle astronaut, I would make sure it was on my list of stuff to pack for the trip!

I imagine you could do some very interesting experiments.

they really take it to their space flights. in a space shuttle the gyroscope is used to know where up and down is because theres no gravity. the gyro always stays in the same direction cause of the forces the rotation brings

@dhughes1969 yep, they sure are... at least one. although gpsr in multiple locations on the plane is able to detect pitch and roll now and is slowly replacing these systems.
