  • Hey this is my first time overclocking im wondering about the max load temps, what temps should i stay away from 80+ c im assuming anything below 80 is ok and stable? thanks in advance.

  • @adrenalineseoul - Yes, everything below 80C is very good.

  • I noticed you disabled Speedstep. Is there a reason for that, aside from keeping your oc from fluctuating?

Also, I just bought a 2nd 12gb Corsair Vengeance kit on the cheap. Will I have to change any settings when dealing with 24gb of memory? I have the P6T Deluxe with latest bios installed.

  • @MclrnMn1 - Disabling speedstep helps to achieve stability. Memory should work fine - P6T Deluxe supports 24GB. You'll probably just need to reset the overclock to the CPU after you've installed the extra memory.

  • @arvutihull Yea, all 24gb is works. I reset before installing the extra kit, thanks.

  • i have an intel core i7 920 but when i do exacly what you say in the video, when i start my computer it sais : Missing operating system... whats up?

  • @Zantek007 - That must be a hard drive related issue. Are you sure that you didn't change anything else in BIOS?

  • i have a i7 920, Corsair 2x2GB DDR3 PC12800 CL8.0 ram, and Asus p6t deluxe v2 ix68, and v8 cooler, i want to overclock to 3,6 like, what settings should i use.

  • You using stock CPU fan?

  • @Raydude25 - No, aftermarket cooler.

  • hi, can i use the same settings to overclock i7 950?

  • 10-4 Thanks.

  • Wanted to ask why mine would be running so hot under load. I have a i7 920 with a Zalman 9000 air cooler @ 2.67 stock (not overclocked) 12 gigs of Patriot gaming. 5870 card.

Idle is running about 38-38 and under load with Cinebench 4 cores read 88, 98, 80, 100. Seams a little hot. should i be worried about those temps?

  • @Remymail - Yes, that's way too hot. Maybe clean the cooler and check if you have enough thermal paste between the cooler and the CPU.

  • @arvutihull Worked great. thanks for the advice. Did a much better paste job and now Idle is 27 -29 and load max was 55. Now for the overclocking. Glad I found your page here.

    Thanks again.

  • @arvutihull Clocked at the 3.66 temps reached 62 max, awesome. thx again.

  • to all people, going over 4ghz with the 920 is not smart... unless you have watercooli

  • i have i7 920 p6t with 12gb ocz PC3 1600 with Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler. what is the setting i could use to OC 3.66? Thanks

  • @iikillali - Same as in this video.

  • Should I go for 4,1 with a c0 i7?

  • and I have a c0 i7 :(

  • dude is it safe to go 4.1 ghz with asus p6t i7 920 ocz ddr3 3x1gb 1333mhz, xigmatek balder as cpu cooler?

  • @flyingwhaletamer - Depends on what temps you'll get at load.

  • Thanks for your help, i have the D0-Stepping and my system wasn't stable with 1,15, but works perfectly with 1,2 V so far.

  • Thanks a lot ! Running at 3.66 presently, everything seems top notch.

33 celsius on idle with a Domino liquid colling CPU fan

    56 celsius when running CINEBENCH

    Nice and swell :)

  • Hi. I have standart Intel cooler for CPU. Is this will be enought, to overclock to 3.66GHz?

  • @maximka52 - Hi. If you have a D0 revision then definately, if you have C0/C1 then maybe.

  • @arvutihull

    Tnx, i have D0. )

  • @maximka52 how can you find out, idk mine.

  • @drocks22

    Use Everest.

  • I have i7 930,ddr3 1333mhz,what settings should i set?please reply.Thanks!!!

  • @MyNaruto92 - You can use the same settings I think. 1.15V as CPU voltage.

  • Hi avrutihull , will i be able to do this with stock fan ? i also have 3 case coolers and MB x58 pro-e , 6gb ddr 3 - 1333 , will it be safe to overclock it like this ? pls reply

  • @MegaSideMan - Yes, if the temps stay below 80C at load.

  • I have ddr3 2000mhz ram, what DRAM Freq, should i set?

  • @KarolPrzybysz - If it's stable leave at auto.

  • what would happen if you just changed the BCLK frequency and DRAM frequency, but left everything else on auto. why do you have to make those changes?

  • @mfastx - Voltage would probably go too high if I'd leave it at auto, but nothing serious would happen.

  • @arvutihull sorry but one more question how do you know what option to put on your DRAM frequency? what would happen if i leave that on auto? thanks

  • @mfastx - It isn't really necessary to even change the DRAM frequency manually so it would just run at lower frequencies when you leave it at auto.

  • are these for all i7 920 machines or just for the ones with good fans ??

  • @DayyanAli200 - For 3,66GHz you should have at least a bit better cooler than stock.

  • Thanks! Great vid!

  • Thanks, this helped a lot. :)

  • again nice video.

Your I7 processors performs really great.

70°C at low fan speed it run quite cool too.

    Many greetings.

    FuenfamTag

  • @FuenfamTag - Thanks!

  • @arvutihull: Just for an info, if you set the multiplier to 18x instead of 20x and adjust bclk higher to reach 3.6GHz clock speed (or any clock speed you wish), your cpu power consumption is reduced to 95W instead of standard 130W for this chip. You probably can get lower temp though :-))

  • Yeaa whoohoo its talking xD

Question why i cant run Stable @ 3,6Ghz at that low voltage of 1,2500 ?

I need 1,3 Volt and i have a Core i7 860, my friend run the same CPU and he use 1,2875 volt for 4Ghz, i dont understand why i cant run that voltage and get that stable.

  • @Snake1979xfire - All chips are a bit different, some need lots of voltage and some need less.

  • @arvutihull Yea thats right, but yea 100c @ 4ghz @ 1,37 volt are little to high for me.

Maybe with a new cooler it will make some difference. now useing a Cooler Master TX 3 or what it was. going to Mugen 2 i think and see what happends.

  • Nice, I alos like to help folks on youtube, But hit me up on Steam " KeikiNYC011"

  • Great!

    Excellent Video!

Very Hot tho, better be careful, What was your Room temp at the time?

  • @Xigmatek - Thanks! Nah below 80C is great for i7. Room temp was about 23C.

  • @arvutihull

    Hmm, I don't know man, Intel says 67.9°C .

But if you say so. :)

  • Great video my friend!

  • @LaczupakabraPL - Thanks!

  • yeah i do have the D0 version but enything over 4ghz on an i7 i think is a waste i was testing abit i got my i7 to run pretty stable on 4437mhz but no way i am gonna use that high a voltage for everyday i just run 3.7ghz at 1.15v or 4ghz at 1.268

  • YAY!!! you talked!!!!!

  • finally ur talking bud! u have a very clear english, dont get shame by talkin in ur vids, keep it up! 5/5

  • Thanks!! =)

  • @arvutihull you mean on startup or stable ? i can startup at 4.6 but it will crash in windows after like 10 secs

  • @Eclipezz - I meant stable at full load, haven't tested for startup. You have D0 stepping probably - a lot easier to overclock so high.

  • very good video!!!!!

  • @narcis4none - Thanks!!

  • Woh, this is like first time ive heard your voice :D

  • @Zacharypwns - You apparently haven't been subscribed for too long, I've talked in my previous unboxing and overclocking videos also =)

  • i run 4.3ghz watercooled

  • @Eclipezz - The maximum I've archieved with mine so far is 4347MHz with HT enabled.

  • Great vid m8! I'm currently on 3.66 OC on my i7 920 D0 (bloomfield) at 19x193 1.144v great chip and my temps are just brillaint!

    idle 37 34 34 34

    Max load 59 56 56 56

rather impressed tbh, rather tempted to go to 4ghz, but I was wondering if it was really worth the extra power and heat I do have the leg room to get there, just hope i wudnt have to go as high as 1.25 etc

    Great vid keep em comming!

  • @R3aCt0rM1nd - Thanks!

  • @arvutihull

You said 1.25v for 4ghz ? Is that a typically healthy voltage for the cpu at 4ghz ? Or cud it be stable at any lower ? Obviously it does depend on the chip ofc but was just wondering if you know this from experience with any other D0 chips ? I guess it wud be even higher for the C0. I have the same MB as you (asus P6T) and it really has made OC an absolute breeze! I remember overclocking my old MSI P965 Platinum deluxe MB and jesus christ it was a mission!!

  • @R3aCt0rM1nd - I have C0/C1 stepping, for this stepping 1.25V is a very safe voltage, for D0 it's fine also but not needed for 3,66GHz.

  • @arvutihull No no ofc not, im happy and stable with my temps at 1.144v havent had to increase it at all from the stock VID really happy with this chip, what I meant was for 4ghz.

  • If I choose the P6T SE (special edition). Are there any cons? Or is it the same as the P6T? thank u.

  • @TheJanRi - It's pretty much the same as P6T, should be even better.

  • argh i felt really sad for u when i saw C1 :(

ur such a great overclocker and ur stuck with that

  • @CRAKIZGOOD - Yes, I bought it before D0 ones got released. It isn't a bad chip for C0/C1 stepping, it just needs huge amount of voltage for high overclocks (anything higher than 4GHz).

  • @arvutihull - There were some C0/C1 chips that needed 1.4V for 3,6GHz.

  • Hi, thank you for the video but please, could you do the same for 4 Ghz? Thanks!

  • @cyberpepe - For 4GHz just use 1.4V for C0/C1 and 1.25V for D0 and BCLK frequency at 200.

  • Hello! I will use the same mobo but I will use the 930. Should I use the same settings? Please tell me if I need to change anything. And How to I know if its C0 or D0?

  • @nykvarnskurken - Hey! 930 is D0, so use 1.15V. And yes, same settings should work fine.

  • @arvutihull Okey, but 920 got 20 multipliers and the 930 got 21 multipliers, should it make any diffrence? I mean if I need to change the overclock settings. Or is it just to use 1.15V?

  • @nykvarnskurken - 920 has basically 21x multiplier and 930 has 22x with turbo mode/speedstep enabled. You can use exactly the same settings, only 1.15V.

  • @arvutihull So I should use the CPU Ratio Setting at 20.0? And it will be 3,66Ghz and I will use 6GB 1600Mhz RAM so what should I have at DRAM Frequency? And how will this affect the warranty of the CPU?

  • @nykvarnskurken - Yes. You can leave DRAM frequency at auto, if it isn't stable/doesn't boot, lower it. Overclocking will ruin the warranty of the CPU.

  • OMG he has a voice :} great vid, speak more..

  • @evilcrow1001 - Thanks! Yes I speak in videos like this but can't be bothered to talk in benchmarks... I'll probably make some gameplays/playthroughs with commentary in future.

  • can Intel(R) core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 2.66GHz set to 3Ghz ?

  • and nice video ^^

  • @xXxsoon9OxXx - Thanks!

  • @xXxsoon9OxXx - Yes you definately can overclock it to 3GHz.

  • How in the world can you run your cpu at 4,2 Ghz when the temp are already a bit unacceptable at 3,66 Ghz??

What is the TJmax on your CPU?

My Q9550@3,6 Ghz@1.175v is getting 44C on each core after full load like any game and with Prime small fft's it's getting about 45-48C on each core!

  • @trisanosh - My CPU fan was at minimum in this video. Noticed how silent it was compared to my benchmarks? Below 80C is very good. C2Q CPU's are cool compared to i7's.

  • Well at least your talking in your vids like I asked :P

    Nice vid though.

  • @AmH032uTuBe - Yes I've talked in unboxing and overclocking videos before also...

    Thanks!
