@knarkbruker No JD is Tennessee whiskey not Kentucky bourbon. I was just at the JD distillery this past Friday and they pointed out that the mellowing process is what differentiates it from bourbon. Due to same odd legal export requirements (look it up) it may be called bourbon but don't bring that up at the distillery or you may be hog tied and carted off to one of their I think 80 barrel houses and left for dead in the Angel's loft.

So a bourbon is a whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon.

Like Champagne only comes from the Champagne region of France and everything else is sparkling wine. But like I said they were very adamant that it was not bourbon. :-)
