It there a difference between the marching mellophone and a regular mellophone? and Is the place the videso are recorded a music store or and open house to purchase or see instruments
@Bobpringle44 Besides looks, playing them is quite different. A "regular" Mellophone is a Cornet derivative. Marching Mellophones are USUALLY more like a Trombone type thing. Of the two, Marching Mellophone is usually the superior player given an appropriate Alto mouthpiece is used, but playing Mellophone in an ensemble is a great (albeit futile) exercise in lip bending.
Lets hear you play something instead of all the talking. You shake it so much that it seems like the horn is the one doing the talking (but no playing).
teal sound started using jupiter quantum horns in 2008 and we are still using them to date plus i have to say that they are exceptionally sounding instruments that are great for marching.
@euphoniumification He probably marched Academy or Teal. I know they were the first ones to use the Quantum horns *they were released in September 2007*
That's the biggest cornet I've ever seen.

@125881 Go with Kings, if you can't do that then a dynasty. Yamaha and jupiter's should be a last resort...

I marched 3 seasons of drum corps with these things...most definitely NOT the best playing mellophones on the field.
