Anyone who as ever paid attention to politics knows that when the Fed raises taxes it is almost always in lock step with states lowering their tax rates and visa versa.

One only needs to fill out their tax forms every year to understand this. When the Fed lowers the tax rate which rarely ever happens especially under Bush then the state taxes increase more or less. It's a simple law of supply and demand.
