  • It's a shame so many fans don't appreciate the emphasis on speed in the newer Sonic games. This proves that even Sonic 1 was about speed - you're racing against the clock, constantly trying not to run out of time and getting to the goal as fast as possible. Sonic is really a racing game cleverly disguised as a platformer, not a Mario clone like the disillusioned so-called "classic" fanboys claim it always was.
