  • great video well done

  • thank you

  • Isn't that A lotus flower?

  • @Plantix4thWatcher

Your the first person to ask, and I don't know. This is one of my first water plants and I'm new to ponds. I've seen flowers just like this on the Internet labeled Lily and Lotus. It has pads that float on the surface which is what we called lily pads when I was a kid, so I called it a water lily

  • @Imjingo Ops, sorry, that is a lily. The distinction is told by the center of the flower. Both can do the same thing (Bloom and close)

  • @Imjingo yes. this is a lotus flower. lotus flowers grow up from the mucky bottoms of ponds and lakes and struggle to grow twards the light from under the water. then when they breach the surface they burst open.

  • @Imjingo

there isn't a named difference between the two but from what i've seen in pics the lotus flower has a seed pod in the center whereas a water lily doesn't and water lilies have a wider range of colors whereas a lotus flower is usually just pink and/or white, so as far as I can tell yu are correct this is a water lily/\_/\

  • @Imjingo The leaves of the water lily sits on the water, but the lotus rises and its leaves sit up to four feet above the water. Yup, definitely a water lily!
