Adding 1gb of ram on MSI Wind u90 and turbo mode

ive got an msi wind in white

its got a 160gb hd and 1gb ram installed by default out of the box

ive got another 1gb and a 2gb ram i can add, will the msi go over 2gb so it will have 3gb or is the max 2gb only

i cant test it out untill xmas :( but looks a cool little thing indeed

p.s is that a vista skin you are running? or is it like vista

the spec of my msi it probably could run vista as its just falling short of my vista basic lappy ?? anyways im deffo doing that :D

nvm i added a 1gb stick and it didnt work in turbo mode untill i flashed the bios to enable overclock

works a treat now and way faster and i can play gta san andreas smooth as a babys butt, well worth upgrading the ram atleast, next im dualbooting it with vista or linux, maby even triple boot with all 3 :)

ok so i bought a U90 and it only has 512 of RAM installed so would i just take out the original one and put a 2gb one in or do i do something else?

MSI wind has an on-board ram and an empty slot!

The on-board ram 512mb ,if you you add an 1gb on the empty slot your ram will go 1.5gb. The best way is to add a 2gb of ram and disable the on-board , so your wind will go to 2gb of ram.

I added 1g ram to my wind u90 , but it the turbo mode ( by pressing Fn-F10) doesnt work , I dont get a red light at all.

Why is that?

Yes I did both ways (plug and unplug) , but the new ram that I added is "Kingston" , does that affect the turbo mode?

To go in turbo mode you must to have 2gs of ram, also be sure that your ram is installed successful (by going into bios setup like the video)

You can also try to press Fn+10 in startup ( 4:00 ).

Yes my friend , after adding 1G ram , it became 2G now and I checked the bios setup it is . . 2048 of ram.

And it is still doesnt work

When turbo mode goes on your wind runs much faster than usual, but the problem is that if you run turbo mode for a lot time your wind becomes hotter and hotter.
