Contrary to what the news say about Thea's selection, The director's wife was the one who chose her for the role. The wife was also in the movie as the gangster's girlfriend (lead role). The director's wife/actress ensured that the stripper part would go to an unknown actress who wouldn't make a big impact onscreen and overshadow her. Prettier actresses/models from all over SE Asia went to audition but Thea got the part, inspite of looking ordinary, dentures and very short. You get the picture.

I wonder where you got your information. The director's wife was not even in the Philippines to even have made that decision. Thea was just one of the two talents to have come from Manila brought to Diwalwal as front-line strippers... the rest were Diwalwal talents to appear as bodies in a strip bar Josh went into. They did not even have a talking scene together. She was just background. I am part of production that's why I know.
