GTI: ugly from the back,is based on a normal golf(rabbit)which means a normal golf owner will sit in ur car n say this is exactly like my car except a few little changes,not something i want to hear if i payed 8-10 grand more 4 a car.Same 4 the cobalt,its awsome but the driving position n base is a nomral cobalt.The BMW sucks,strut front suspension makes it a bad car to drift or corner fast plus its expensiev.The Solstice is sexy but too small.
My suggestion:If u're looking 4 a fun fast car that gives u a thrill get the new 300hp tiburon with RWD,it costs the same but the sports car seating position is a million times better than the high seating position on those other cars.plus its fast,affordable quick shift manual n competes with a mustang,n its roomier.u cant go wrong.
If u want practicality n sensible coupe,het the new accord coupe,its got the rite amount of sporty,agressive looks with reliablity n adequate performance.
American cars = plastic crap. Get the GTI, it rips! Sure it's by no means the fastest hot hatch out there, but it may be the most refined. It will put a smile on your face every time you plant the pedal or take it into some twisties. Yeah, the BMW is a RWD 6, but there is something hypnotizing about the lagless turbo power and sound found in the VW. Seats are awesome, the steering wheel is perfect... the list goes on. There's a reason why many have sung its praises....
the VW GTI is really the way to go seeing that the cobalt SS is really...a wana be ricer. then you got the solstice is a ok...but its like a VW beetle only lower to the ground with the top chopped off. then you got the BMW 128I. its a great track car and dalily driver its just not that ''modern'' compared to the VW gti. now with the VW gti its modern,good MPG,a good track car,and it has large cup holders for your french roast coffee!
buy the 135i if you can, a friend of mine has a 335i and it goes like a dream, or very fast which ever you like. Anyway the 128i is the way to go, like i said in another comment "pocket rocket" . it's all about marketing. the only benefit i can see in a focus that is as fast (cosworth focus?) as a vette is that it is smaller. so if someone lives in france, they need a smaller car and it is marketed towards them. the camaro will be marketed primarily to americans, so a large car will do fine for most americans. but then again, most people buy their cars based on looks and reputation in which corvette gets good scores on both.
I don't know the exact answer for that, but an old friend of mine who lived in Germany as a kid told me his dad had a Ford Cosworth Focus. I never asked how much they paid for it, but since they made a special focus just for the euro market i figured that they must like small cars. as opposed to the U.S. who markets towards large cars (that may be changing now due to the times). The Focus may have also had a huge following over in europe and caused ford to "focus" on them.
No love for the Solstice? Oh well cant blame them either. Cobalt SS...to bland. In a toss up between the other two I would have to go with BMW all the way with nothing against VW for sure. Go with BMW 128i.

BMW has the same quality as the GTi, but rear wheel drive, also slightly more power, i don't know how much exactly but the new one should have inline 6 cyl. 3.0l engine... 210+ bhp? I've driven GTi and Bmw 118i. Nevertheless GTI, BMW or even better... Get the new scirocco!
Don't get the Chevy, Derek. If GM goes the way of the velociraptor, there'll be no one making parts to replace the 1.8 or so liter engine, which will need replacing if the Chevy turns out to be as reliable as the badging suggests. Personally, I'd love to get the Bimmer 1-series for the handling and excellent power-weight ratio...but it looks really really gay. Only choice, in my opinion, is the GXP. Sure, it won't make your grow, but you won't look quite as gay as with the Bimmer.

GTI: ugly from the back,is based on a normal golf(rabbit)which means a normal golf owner will sit in ur car n say this is exactly like my car except a few little changes,not something i want to hear if i payed 8-10 grand more 4 a car.Same 4 the cobalt,its awsome but the driving position n base is a nomral cobalt.The BMW sucks,strut front suspension makes it a bad car to drift or corner fast plus its expensiev.The Solstice is sexy but too small.

My suggestion:If u're looking 4 a fun fast car that gives u a thrill get the new 300hp tiburon with RWD,it costs the same but the sports car seating position is a million times better than the high seating position on those other cars.plus its fast,affordable quick shift manual n competes with a mustang,n its roomier.u cant go wrong.
If u want practicality n sensible coupe,het the new accord coupe,its got the rite amount of sporty,agressive looks with reliablity n adequate performance.

American cars = plastic crap. Get the GTI, it rips! Sure it's by no means the fastest hot hatch out there, but it may be the most refined. It will put a smile on your face every time you plant the pedal or take it into some twisties. Yeah, the BMW is a RWD 6, but there is something hypnotizing about the lagless turbo power and sound found in the VW. Seats are awesome, the steering wheel is perfect... the list goes on. There's a reason why many have sung its praises....

the VW GTI is really the way to go seeing that the cobalt SS is really...a wana be ricer. then you got the solstice is a ok...but its like a VW beetle only lower to the ground with the top chopped off. then you got the BMW 128I. its a great track car and dalily driver its just not that ''modern'' compared to the VW gti. now with the VW gti its modern,good MPG,a good track car,and it has large cup holders for your french roast coffee!

buy the 135i if you can, a friend of mine has a 335i and it goes like a dream, or very fast which ever you like. Anyway the 128i is the way to go, like i said in another comment "pocket rocket" . Some say that when it brakes it slows down the rotation of the Earth, and some say that when you accelerate is like Chuck Norris giving you a roundhouse kick in your face, all we know is that it's called the BMW M3 :)

I remember when someone made a lot of fuss over the idea that Ford put $75K into a Focus to make it go as fast as a Vette.
Why not just buy the Vette? I don't care how fast a Focus goes, I think I'd rather have the Vette.
By the same token, the whole idea of buying the Camaro is that its cheaper than the Vette and almost as fast. So, basically, if you had the money to put into a built-up Camaro, you could have a Vette.

it's all about marketing. the only benefit i can see in a focus that is as fast (cosworth focus?) as a vette is that it is smaller. so if someone lives in france, they need a smaller car and it is marketed towards them. the camaro will be marketed primarily to americans, so a large car will do fine for most americans. but then again, most people buy their cars based on looks and reputation in which corvette gets good scores on both.

I don't know the exact answer for that, but an old friend of mine who lived in Germany as a kid told me his dad had a Ford Cosworth Focus. I never asked how much they paid for it, but since they made a special focus just for the euro market i figured that they must like small cars. as opposed to the U.S. who markets towards large cars (that may be changing now due to the times). The Focus may have also had a huge following over in europe and caused ford to "focus" on them.

GTI is certenly great car BUT its hatchback may be practical but points down for style
it have great handling but anyway its just FWD car
and last and not letast engine, gti has 4cylinder 2.0 turbocharged engine, its good engine
BUT BMW streight six natural aspirated 3.0 is just from another world then gti.
bmw has more style, more power, RWD, more fun, better trim.
its may be the smallest one but its good
just plees buy that coupé version, not that ugly hatchback

There is no question, buy the BMW. BMW has the same quality as the GTi, but rear wheel drive, also slightly more power, i don't know how much exactly but the new one should have inline 6 cyl. 3.0l engine... 210+ bhp? I've driven GTi and Bmw 118i. Nevertheless GTI, BMW or even better... Get the new scirocco!

Don't get the Chevy, Derek. If GM goes the way of the velociraptor, there'll be no one making parts to replace the 1.8 or so liter engine, which will need replacing if the Chevy turns out to be as reliable as the badging suggests. Personally, I'd love to get the Bimmer 1-series for the handling and excellent power-weight ratio...but it looks really really gay. Only choice, in my opinion, is the GXP. Sure, it won't make your grow, but you won't look quite as gay as with the Bimmer.
