  • lol a Slag, Aussies and they're slang.

  • John and Ace = Legends

    Kerri-Anne = A slag and a disgrace to Australia

  • are these the REAL owners in the film who go to africa ?

  • @batura1 Yes, If you go back to the first half of the interview it says so at the bottom of the screen.

  • I love these guys for helping animals.

  • this kerri-anne bitch is fucking annoying! the dumbass keeps interrupting him and changing the subject in the middle of a story that seems like it's about to get real interesting. she needs to shut the fuck up and just let him talk

  • @dummkompf

Exactly! Terrible interviewer. I wanted to hear them talk about their experiences with Christians lionesses but thanks to her I didn't get to. I hate these presenters who spend more time talking than their interviewees.

  • beatifull story

  • Lololololololololololololololol.

No one gives a shit about yer religious opinions.

But please, keep going. Its quite entertaining.

  • omg ppl... shut the fuck up and watch the vid... they should fucking disable comments...

  • How the hell does religion show up in every freaking topic, think logically and live free of restraints.

  • i have a pet its a white serbian tiger, he turned 5 last weekend turning him in soon.

  • wow...how did this interview become so much of an issue to some people and fighting over faith? ridiculous......people believe what they believe....

  • Why the HELL are you guys arguing about religion?

how is that CLOSE TO relevant?

    STOP.

--WE DONT CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT A PERSON'S RELIGION!

-WE DONT WANT TO HEAR YOUR WINGING!

    STFU.

Why the hell are there CONSTANT arguments on youtube comments?

because losers who don't go out of their houses, picking on random people online are taking over -___-"

Jeeeez get a life and enjoy the f*cking video for once.

  • ApplyUrBrain and akchaklato.... had 5 minutes of laugh thanks to you guys...keep on please!!!

  • Don't forget innocent children slaughtered!!!

  • @akchaklato you my god obsessed friend have sinned. The third commandment states that you shall not use god's name in vain

  • @ApplyUrBrain looolszh... yuu n akchalota made me daii... jowkaz x

  • goddamn, these youtube quarrels are omnipresent. ridiculous.

  • Ok, just to comment, why are u defying each others beliefs?? Its just so unnerving.. One side says God gives us free will, the other defies... Why can't people just enjoy this video which is about friendship?!! A message is being sent to u through this video and u are cntradicting it.. U should just make others feel ok rather than spitting out arguments that really don't lead to anything but more arguments...

  • this is something that happened years ago ,a rare thing ,where the hell did god come into it,i think u all need to lay off the drugs

  • This is why I like animals better than I like people. People only think they know God. Animals do know God.

    Peace.

  • "This is why I like animals better than I like people. People only think they know God. Animals do know God."

And you as a human don't know God, but you somehow know that animals do know God.

    Go smoke another one buddy.

  • why dat name man dey could have called him a beta name lol

  • are these the guyz tht used to own christian??!!

  • looks like it.

  • yep thats them

  • Shame some people can only be negative ... this was done in the 1970's, not 2007 or 2009. Yes, we've learned so much more since then about animals, and continue to do so. Don't take away from the beautiful moment and such a touching story.

I mean, would it kill you guys to just appreciate a moment that happened LAST CENTURY?

  • Remarkable story. It's one thing to show and get love and affection to such a creature while in their care, but to actually see evidence that such love remains even as time in the wild may have had influences on the lion....truly remarkable..

  • Not my fault i'm an animal lover

    u jerk.

and what do you mean did you learn anything?

  • So Sooo Cute

i want a cub for my pet

and keep him till he's old and

just hug him and play all sorts of fun games with the thing I LOVE LIONS NOW MORE THEN DOGS

  • KERRY ANN IS GODDAM HOTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • and in her 50's

  • That broad's in her 50s??????? Wow.....a hot grandma for sure.

  • This is really amazing story about friendship, about true friendship! Great!

  • and the girls were not happy.....ha hah ahahahaaha silly anchor.

  • Yep lol.

  • LOL.

  • this video is so touching!! i hope christian's still alive...

  • Highly unlikely, he would be 40 years old if he was....but he had a much better life in the wild than he would have in captivity.

  • sorry but christian is death. That happened already in 1992. The lion´s life is already 15 years in wild life. I told you because I work in conservation and ecology. That is sad, but this is the christian´s legacy to learn!! kisses ximena

  • Qualcuno può tradurre in italiano?

    Gliene sarei davvero grato!

    Grazie.

  • Vorrei provare. Non sarà molto bene l'italiano, ma avrà il tempo di tradurre in questo fine settimana se non si è ancora interessato. Ok?

  • I luv their interviews!!

  • i love it. they were both quite good looking when they were younger. i want a lion.

  • 61yukon, thank for the info

  • is Christian still alive these days?

  • No way! The internet has informed me that lions in the wild live 15-18 years. Since Christian was born in 1969, he probably died about 1985.

  • I work at a conservation and ther are so many differnet exotic aniamsl, and i just lvoe going to work each day,not one day have i been attacke d by any of the animals,i just love animals,so there my life

  • I'm disappointed that Ace and John didn't mention Virginia McKenna & Bill Travers, who were also instrumental in the rehabilitation of Christian, and who gave him a good home for four months.

    Ralph in Canada

  • what a lovely man there are.

  • I just finished watching the Christian video, i cried like a baby over it, and felt so Blessed that God has given us The unconditional love we can and do receive from our relationships with animals!! I will never forget what I saw in that video, it has touched me forever.

  • What god had to with it animals don't know anything about your so called god that is what makes them so wonderful.

  • Yeah only man has to make up gods to worship, animals just live....they don't need to invent reason for it......

  • What about people who maul humans? That happens a lot more than the other way around....Humans are the most violent killers on earth...Lions kill to eat and protect their pride....humans kill because they can and they have violence in them...so what does you god have to say about that?

  • DivaHelget:

If people have free will, then God cannot be all-knowing. If he is all-knowing, he knows the future, and if he knows the future, we do not have free will because the future is already determined.

  • No - no, even if God knows the future, it only means that he knows, how we are going to decide

  • dkfelix:

EXACTLY! He knows what we are going to do, which BY DEFINITION means no free will!

  • I couldn't disagree more. Just because He knows, what we will do, He gives us the responsiblity to act. We are told to repent, to pray and a lot of other things that is lai up for us to do. That's because we have a free will. We are not pre-destined.

  • lol never ceases to amaze me the contrived load of shit people can make up, just to make a fantasy feel real for themselves.

  • Doesn't take much to amaze you.

  • God's foreknowledge is not causative. Just because God knows the future does not mean he make is happen that way.

  • What is infer here is pre-destination, and if given as such, then 'free will' can be allowed to operate within the 'parameter of pre-destination,' sowing and reaping, as it may, without effecting the ultimate outcome of destiny.

  • Panbaccha :

Wrong. If everything is already known, we can do nothing to change the future, which means that we BY DEFINITION have no free will.

    Your God was just disproven.

  • You couldn't grasp god's infinite blessings if you had a hundred years to try. I get a kick out of people who think that they can figure god out, so they can reason what he's all about. Arrogant worms....

  • mitts61:

"I get a kick out of people who think that they can figure god out, so they can reason what he's all about."

I get a kick out of people who figure that they can just say there is a god and think they'll convince level headed people of a god's existence by just saying it/he/she exists in an assuming manner. Arrogant douche-bags.

  • APEXofTRUTH:

"you can have free will and still God knows the outcome"

Wrong. If God already knows the outcome, there is nothing you can do what so ever to change the outcome, which means that everything is predetermined, which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of free will.

  • tingtangs:

then the question would be "does anyone know the outcome...?" and since the answer is NO then the fact that God is all-knowing does NOT mean humans do not have freewill i.e. His knowledge does not interfere with the choices you make.

  • Diva,

You're confusing the issues. God IS all knowing. Just because he doesn't CAUSE people to act as they CHOOSE, doesn't mean He doesn't know WHAT they will choose. Your arguement makes no sense. Yes, we have free will, and yes God IS all-knowing. How does one cancel out the other. God KNOWS WHAT we will choose.

  • camerondiazsucks: If God is all-knowing, he knows the future as well. Otherwise he is not all-knowing, and frankly, quite pathetic for someone who is claimed to be all-knowing and all-powerful.

An all-knowing god cancels out free will because everything is already known, and pre-determined.

  • God, Jah, Buddha, Alah ... and the list goes on. Listen, most religions kill in the name of their God, when we all know they're just killing - period. As a whole we can't control what anyone does - all we can do is stand up and be responsible for our own actions. I'm not sure about what God would say, but I can tell you this, Karma's a bitch - and that's that. But to be so damn negative, GAY... Damn .. I mean, would it kill you to just let it be.... (that's not a question). Peace.

  • i want a lion now

  • thanks!

  • what lovely men! thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story. I have been so moved and touched by the video clips of their reunion and was thrilled to then find this interview on here. Doesn't it just make you feel great!! Donation about to be made. Love to all.. 'o) x

  • When Nations pride themselves on assault and other nations 'pride' themselves on retaliation... Lions 'PRIDE' themselves on proving us all wrong and show us 'Unconditional Love'. All Religions and all Life Styles relate to this story and videos... people for people and people for animals... understanding ~ LOVE...

  • dude! you might be taking this too seriously

  • This is something which shows what is to take care of someone else.Thank you so much about this video!

  • Ace, John, Christian, George,

I will always love YOU !

  • Could some one direct me to John and Ace's blog? I've communicated with Will Travor (?)

by email but no results as to email addresses or blogs for John and Ace.

  • Will Traverse is the son of the late Bill Traverse & Virginia McKenna. They were the actors in the movie Born Free. Virginia founded the Born Free Foundation. Bill financed the "Christian the Lion" documentary in 1970, therefore Virginia now owns the rights to it. John & Ace asked people to donate to the George Adamson Preservation Trust, a totally different organization. Who said Ace & John have a blog???

  • It's Will (& Bill) Travers - no e on the end.

  • to KatieKat....I read that John and Ace had a blog somewhere but don't recall where. That's why I was asking.

  • I just replied to your post elibutton...I hit a wrong key on my computer and it was gone. Not sure if it posted....but I agree with you. I would love nothing more than to just hear John and Ace talk (ONLY them talk).

  • I've read all your comments.......what more is there to say. You spoke from own heart. thank you John and Ace, you are sensational human beings.

    Where is their blog site?

  • This lady is such an annoying interviewer, she keeps interrupting so the guys can't provide a complete answer - - she forces them to go into new subjects and tangents. How annoying!

  • i just replied to your post elebutton...I hit a wrong key on my computer and it was gone. Not sure if it posted..but I agree with you. I would love nothing more than to just hear John and Ace talk (ONLY then talk).

  • I really liked her interview style. She asked the questions to which I wanted to hear the answers.

  • you're missing the point - I didn't have issues w/ her content, it was her style and the way she interviewed them. She kept interrupting these guys in the middle of their answers and they never get a chance to completely answer the question. That is obnoxious and rude, and unprofessional. The qeustions she's asking are not the issue - it's her impatient delivery.

  • im not dissagreeing with you, or agreeing with you about that ladies interviewing skills. But you have to consider shes on a time frame and she has a lot of questions to answer to paint a story, she cant spend half her interview time on one question. so she has to interupt them to move on.

  • You should see Meredith Fiero, rude and ignorant comments. At least this lady doesn't refer to them as Lunch Meat. I can't stand american interviewers for this very reason, they are concerned with the real story just getting air time filled.

  • Who cares?

  • i do....

  • his the lion still alife????

  • does anyone know what has happened to christian is still alive ??

  • couldn't possibly be alive now - he was born in 1969. these film clips are from an old documentary filmed in the early 1970's!

  • just wasnt sure how old lions lived for i knew they were old clips but thanx anyway

  • John and Ace says that 1974 was their last meeting.Never saw him again and they never heard of a big game being killed (Christian was around 600 lbs)so I guess he fully integrated into the wild till he died.Even George Adamson never saw him again.

  • It was said that lions live about 25 years so Christian could have lived into the 90s. They will never know.

  • Lions live 10-15 years or so in the wild, right?

  • If they are fortunate they can live over 20 years.

  • Not in the wild...

  • The best...thank you.

  • Fine interview. Informed, literate, sensible, with an eye toward serving the cause. These two guys are fabulous, and the host took the time to research the subject and give some good information to the audience. Very unlike The Today Show, where you could see the lack of preparation. American audiences should demand more from people who are so highly paid. For American TV it was all sentiment without the historical detail and sensibility of the story. Too bad.

  • That was 1000000 times more insightful than the today show interview.

  • Thank YOU, and yes it was done the way one

would think it should have been in INTEGRITY!

  • Thank You For Posting These. I Am Favoriting Them. ;0)

    Roberta

  • loved the story, have sent for the dvd and made a donation to the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust in London in Christian's memory...hope others do the same

  • The USA interview by Meredith was insulting. Why in the world MSNBC asks her to conduct this interview? She shows plain dumbness through out the interview.

  • this is such a touching story! two wonderful people took the time to care for christian and it pays off. it just shows true friendship between the lion and these two men. wonderful wonderful story!

  • I have loved every moment of this journey of the Christian/John/Ace/George story. I have laughed and cried..shared the sorrow of losing Boy & Katina :-(. I'm am so grateful to these 2 men, who had the compassion and love to rescue a lion cub..and did everything in their power to give him Life & Love.

I too, could listen to John & Ace's stories..for hours..I pray that they make a new movie. They already have a million fans!!

I also will make a donation to The George Adamson Trust in graditude

  • If you want to write to John and Ace or send a donation please write to:

    George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust

    16A PARK VIEW ROAD

    LONDON N3 2JB

    UNITED KINGDOM

  • It's just so very nice to see them. They are so wonderful. I love their personalities. Such intelligent and loving men. God Bless them. Just wonderful...can't get enough of them and Christian.

  • John & Ace are such a gift, to the Universe. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to hear their

stories and am buying the movie and will make a donation.

Slightly disappointed that commentator Thanks John and

not Ace at the end of the video. She frequently cuts them

off as they are speaking, other than that, the most profound unconditional Love. What a Gift Ace, John, Christian and George and all involved in this amazing &

    wonderful story !

  • I think the commentator appreciated having both there. She just happened to know John previously. As I'd commented earlier, I appreciate John's dedication to the cause and he seems so genuine, but I noticed Ace too because his sincerity is such a quiet one. He seems genuinely kind and the clip where Christian is hugging him shows just how much he loved Ace as well. I appreciate Ace's quiet sincerity and can feel just how much he loved Christian.

  • i agree. i could have just listened to john and ace talk forever; but, she wouldn't shut up. and would have liked to hear ace speak more 'cause he appears to have had the strongest bond with christian. maybe he's the quiet type.

  • John is the tall guy....isn't he the one that Christian kept jumping up and hugging him? People think his name is Ace, but it's John. I think John spent more time with Christian, that's

    why the bond is stronger.

  • John was the dark haired guy. Ace is the one with Christian jumping into his arms. I believe that Ace spent more time with Christian was well. There is a scene in the dvd that shows Ace going into a pen and holding his arms out and Christian jumps into his arms and hugs him. It's amazing Christian remembered that in the reunion.

  • In that australian interview, the tall guy, they showed his name

as john on the screen...I'm confused...I thought ace is the short dark haired guy and john the blond.

  • Not sure what you are referring to but Ace is the tall, thin guy with blonde hair. Look at their faces now and you can tell who's who in the older video.

  • no, ace is the one who christian was jumping on. however, i'd like to comment that ace would posture in a way that invited christian to jump; kind of like when my dog knows it's okay to jump on me. john, on the other hand, would bend down to greet christian. i think it's really cute how christian appears to try to give them equal time.

  • John had the dark hair.

Ace had the light hair. Ace is the one that Christian

would Jump in his arms :)

Both are amazing people with an incredible gift that

is now being shared world wide!

  • Thanks everyone....I had a closer look and you're right, Ace is

the tall guy that Christian jumped and hugged. I suspect Ace

probably spent more time with Christian. Both are amazing

gentlemen and have given us a lot of understanding with lions

and the love they can give back.

  • So glad to see the Australian interview..the U.S. interview did not do these 2 men, nor Christian justice. On the Today Show, the interviewers had not done homework and acted cutesy and show their ignorance and lack of compassion. This one is fantastic and a wonderful tribute. I ordered the DVD movie (produce some 38 years ago) and "My Pride And Joy" by George Adamson. Virginia Mckenna is still alive and actress in UK and is involved with the foundation.

  • I enjoyed this interview far more than on the Today show (which was insulting). This one was fantastic. I'd like to see John & Ace set up a blog/ website :-) lol, where we could ask questions and they could answer. There is so much more I'd like to know.

  • Yes, island..Great to have a blog from John and Ace. I know they r busy men..Think John is a PR person, involved with tons in UK... Ace..lecturer and so much more. Can not believe anyone would think this is made up..Just men in right place with big heart and moved on with compassion. George Adamson trust is fortunate to have these men as well as the son of Bill Travese as head of foundation. Bill was actor as George Adamson in the documentary. Wife Virginia McKenna was part of this still alive.

  • Please let me know where I can read John & Aces' blog?

    Many thanks,

    auchgir

  • auchgirl....I was agreeing with island that it would be fantastic if they had a blog.. John and Ace r so pulled/busy with so much, I would be surprised if they could find the time.. But who knows? After this loving support and wanting, they might..Good movie would be great..if done right. Needs to be done before these compassionate, yet successful men pass on. What a tribute to George Adamson, Christian, wild- natural life that would be...Thanks.

  • This is a good interview, but it still leaves me wanting more. I agree with chelseyjoblum that a movie would be a terrific idea. I also wish the publisher of their book would pull it out of the mothballs and do another printing. It's impossible to find. Many thanks to Ace and John for being such beautiful individuals.

  • I emailed John Rendall and asked about the book. He confirmed that they are reproducing the book and adding in a few things like the reunion. I was happy to hear that.

  • thanks for the info nflrich!! I can't wait! :0) I see on the Born Free website, how to buy the Christian the Lion DVD

  • Thanks for the update, and I'm pleased that the book will be reprinted and expanded. I'd also love to see the original movie re-engineered and updated. This is just such a beautiful love story that it would be a shame not to keep it alive.

  • Will you let us know when the book comes out? I want to get

    several copies for gifts too.

  • I don't know John Rendall or have any inside info on the book. I was just writing him to tell him what a great story this is. I asked if there was plans to write a new book since the other onewas out of print. I told him so many people would be interested in hearing about the day-day life while Christian was living with them in London. That's it.

  • I mean produce a NEW movie on their lives with Christian, not the documentary that was produced in 1972

  • Ya' know, as the original clip makes the rounds and these interviews are seen, chances are goo that it could be turned into a movie sometime. The question would be who does it and who's in it and how true to the real story the stay. Hollywood tends to screw things up. This may be handled better by a Brit/Australian production team and released in the U.S. as a Foreign Film. Otherwise it could end up a disaster.

  • I agree with you retroflow44. Have it produced in the UK or Australian with John and Ace as consulting advisors. This way it will be true to life. Just like when they wrote the book in 1972. And NOT a documentary film.

  • Thank you again for sharing this story of Christian. I did indeed make a donation to the George Adamson Trust, as well as bought the full DVD from the Born Free Foundation in the UK. Best of Prayers for all the animals you help.

  • Two comments from Virginia in the USA:

    1. What two delightful men John and Anthony/Ace are which is not surprising considering how they befriended Christian the way they did.

    2. I am so jealous! I have always, always wanted to hug a lion!

  • lol. me too. i had the opportunity to have my picture taken with a lion cub once and i couldn't help but cry while holding it in my arms.

  • I would love to see John and Ace produce a movie of their lives with Christian with footage containing George Adamson. It would be a great hit with all people especially the family movie type.

  • yes!...with the profit going to the animal reserves.

  • There is a movie, hard to find, Christian the Lion with all the players some 35 yrs ago, this clip was a part of it.

  • Thanks and I agree....I received the book by George Adamson couldn't put it down. The documentary tape is on the way. Now, there is a DVD through Born Free foundation. Time for a real movie on this. Lets hope the U.S. doesn't do it or they might make a screw it up, just like the interviews done here. This is heartfelt and should be shared with respect and not just jokes by interviewers that have not done their homework but make large salaries for running their mouth.

  • chelseyjoblum: That documentary already exists. It's called "Christian the lion".

  • Thank you both so very much for all your sharing memories and video of the life of your beloved Christian. You are two extrodinary gentlemen that enabled a wild animal to unconditionally love, not just in his today, but loved you both through time. The love you showed and gave Christian could not me measured and was extremely deep. I know deep inside your heart still aches, for I can see the love you all shared together. Thank you ever so much!
