That said, lower level masons know virtually nothing and continue to know nothing until they are proven trustworthy enough to ascend through the ranks. There's also a lot of emphasis on "strong will", which is essentially the thirst for knowledge of the craft. If one of your friends is a mason, you can ask to join and they'll probably let you.

Aleister Crowley WAS NOT a Freemason, he was (For a short-time) a Member of a "CLANDESTINE" Lodge which is not recognized by UGLE thus HE WAS NOT a Freemason of the AF & AM crop. Story; Crowley was in Texas, he tried to shake hands with a REAL Mason, but was denied and told to leave. This left Crowley upset and frustrated. HE WAS NOT A FREEMASON!!!!!

The OTO was basically a bunch of Tarot Card readers meeting monthly. They LOOSELY based it around Masonic Meeting Style, but that's where the similarity ends. It had NO contacts or backing. IT WAS NOT established and still is struggling for membership because it has no power source or control over anything. Member Dues are what fund the OTO and that does not get them far. Lucis Trust also donates but it's NOT in control of anything accept itself. I think you need to do a little more research pls
