What a beautiful son you have! People need to get over the "stigma" of hearing aids, they are no different than wearing glasses. I'm happy to have mine! I'm glad that technology is so advanced that we can use hearing aids to hear. To me it's not a big deal and it is a blessing that the hearing aids can help you cutie pie!
Wow I about cried when I saw this video! You can totally see a huge difference in his awareness and behavior with the hearing aids! I lost complete hearing in my right side by having a fever of 104.4 when I was in kindergarten... my left has about 50% hearing loss. I stopped wearing hearing aids in 94 and now I'm realizing I need to not be embarrassed about my disability and instead need to do something about it. I don't have $2,000 for a hearing aid though.
What a great video. Our wee 14 month old has just been diagnosed with severe to profound deafness and has just had her first hearing aids in ..... the eyes say it all!
This is absolutely wonderful!!!! My 17 month old son also has the same level of loss and was aided at 9 weeks old. I would love to see how your son is doing now! You can see mine if you search for videos using my name here.
Me again...I was going through my favorites and I watched this again, brought tears to my eyes again....sorry, Im being so sappy. Love him with everything you have and dont give in to the pressures ahead.
Lucas is 7 months old here, although he got his first pair of hearing aids at 3 months, and was diagnosed with severe-profound SNHL at 2 months. We are very fortunate to have caught it so early.
@jrodcampbell a friend of mine recently had a baby and I distinctly remember a nurse putting headphones on him (almost as big as he was at two days) for preliminary testing for deafness. Is that not routine?
I could have watched another 20 minutes of this! He is adorable! My son wore hearing aids at 11 weeks old it was quite amazing. He now has a cochlear implant. Listening is a beautiful thing!

@LynxChan
Yes, that is routine. Part of a newborn hearing screening program to catch congenital hearing losses as early as possible.
