I have been watching this video incessantly for days now. Sometimes at 4am. I saw it on rage (Aust music show) a while back when Antione Newcombe was guest presenter. I have been trying to decipher the lyrics and comprehend its narrative. I'm absolutely besotted with this song at present. Can anyone tell me what exactly he is saying and give me their interpretation of its meaning. I know I should move on but I've become obsessive due to a recent split with a woman.
Compared to most Crime songs, I've devoted very little thought to interpreting its lyrical meaning, and enjoyed it more on a musical level. The middle bit with the thunderous Metallica guitar bits could be seen as dealing with anxiety, sleep disturbances, troubled dreams etc. via the realisation that you yourself have some power of control over your life. The 'my road, your road' is probably a variation on the 'in the end we are all brothers' theme introduced in 'Shadow of No Man'.
Oh lawdy.....finally some real rare gems from youtube....THANK YOU SO MUCH MICK!!!! I love Crime and the City Solution and to see some live footage as well as videos is AMAZING!!!
I hear this song "every" day!! Thanks for posting! Okay Mr. Simon Bonney what are you doing now, where is your music......?
I hope to find more like this....... nina
