When I got back to Ny from Hilton Head, my sin looked great after swimming in salt water.

Table salt DOES work but it has to be applied NEAT, to an already wet body then rinsed of.

Table salt still acts as an exfoliator and also cleanses the skin,unblocking pores.

Believe me, I should know I use it all the time and it works miracles.

Actually if you mix sugar (I prefer the organic) and mix it with extra virgin olive oil it forms an alpha-hydroxy acid and makes your skin really beautiful. You mix in enough oil to where it is still very gritty - you can even scrub your body with it in the tub and then shower off. Great for rough spots and exfoliates. They do use salt as well, but I prefer the sugar as the salt stings and does not soften like the sugar.

Any sugar will work but I use the Organic Cane Sugar because it has a bit coarser crystal. Extra Virgin Olive oil does not clog pores and is noncomedogenic. If you want to just try it on your hands and face take about a 1/4 cup of sugar and then add just enough olive oil to where it is still pretty grainy yet saturated. The granuales help with the exfoliation, but the mixture forms an alpha-hydroxy acid so you get a double wammy - I love love this and it really makes your skin nice.

as a skin care specialist try adding a touch of unscented oil or lotion to make it richer in moisture. some people even use sesame oil or light olive oil....only a small amount works well. also great for preparing the skin for tanning....
