We actually had an interesting design decision there. Our market research showed that a lot of the people who loved Scarface were hip hop fans. So we needed to cater to them as well as to fans of the movie in a pure sense. That's why you can use the audio mix options to specify the set of tracks you want to hear while playing the game; you can remove the hip hop tracks if you want.

I never did anything with the cabs in this game so I wouldn't know if you can hail them, but armsdealers are definitely in. You can use your cellphone but it's very limited.

Also, the wanted system in the game is a LOT like the one in GTA4. You have a limited time to escape the police radius on the radar before you're busted.

Actually, that song ("Rush, Rush", by Deborah Harry), is from the Scarface movie soundtrack. When GTA: Vice City was released, the folks at Rockstar Games said that many locations in Vice City had been directly inspired by the movie and that all the songs that could be heard on Flashback FM (which is a radio station in GTA III, not GTA:VC) were taken from the Scarface movie soundtrack.

That I tried, but it ended up being a big pain. Gangs seem to move in at random, some seemed to appear on the map (as a blank skull) but never show up, etc. It got annoying and confusing so I gave up.

I also tried recording the races but just stopped with that for no real reason, really. I just didn't feel like doing them. If you're interested in seeing them check out RaakaDonArska's 100% Scarface guide (in progress).
