I realise you probably won't read a comment on a two year old video, but I just wanted to say thanks; my girlfriend set me the task of making brownies while she's out and I was completely lost at the first step.
Sometimes it best to grease or butter the pan and then line with parchment paper and grease/butter the paper and add a little flour on the paper as well.
Wow, that was simple. Doing that properly was stumping this guy, so props to you!

thanks for posting this up! I used to just pour vegetable oil into the pan bottom and that would be it.
