  • Thank you. It was very useful :)

  • Hello somebody?

My camera has a reasonably sized blue line across it so it's just this i want to replace.. But i can't find the camera tool anywhere? any ti[s on this/other ways to do it?

    Thanks

  • thank u for this, beer killed my desire HD touch screen now all better thanks to you and a man in hong kong! who would have thought these screens only 40 pounds!

  • thank you for the video, help me a lot,

i broke my screen, it would have cost me £150 to get it replaced throughout repair centre , but i got the screen and digitalizer for only £46 , saved me £106 after two hours work. not bad..

  • @jaszjad24 I broke my screen as well, and got the replacement parts and took the phone apart, but I can't get the lcd screen from the frame, got some tips on that?

  • @sjorsjie

    Hi,

You will need digitaliser and LCD BOTH,

USE hair dryer to blow hot air across the lcd screen to metl the two sided glue tape used by HTC to stick the screen to the metal framing. use it from 3 to 4 inch distance and for 3 minute, if it is not enough then try to HOTEN it for few more minute. once it proper hot, push the screen from the back of screen where the metal frame attaches the battery, you will see small square gap. it will come out ,

  • @jaszjad24

Hi, tried it all even for half an hour in the oven at 60 degree celsius, but it still wouldn't come of. I only got the glass seperated from the lcd, but this is no help either since there is a cable running from the glass to the back of the LCD. Therefore I decided to buy the digitizer with display from ebay ( 68 english pounds)

this should be all I need te fix it.

  • @sjorsjie

you have paid too much, but any way, you have got new LCD and digitalis er, so why you are worrying, just try to push the screen from back where you see a hole/ gap, just break the old screen and don't worry about the belt as that belt if useless , because new screen is already comes with new belt attached , and there is nothing wich will be damaged while you remove the LCD

  • @jaszjad24

YOU MAY FEEL LIKE YOU WILL BREAK SOME THING, BUT THERE IS NOTHING TO GET BREAK APART FROM OLD SCREEN, WHICH IS USE LESS ANYWAY, SO DONT WORRY.

  • @jaszjad24

Haven't bought it yet, was plannign on buying it, because i saw no other way out. I can't get the LCD out and replace the glass with the replacement I allready have. What price range should I then expect an complete digitizer with LCD screen and glass?

All I found came around this price range. The glass seperated (including tools) was €21,57 including transportation

  • and why would anyone do THAT?!?

  • can somebody tell me where is the water sticker??

  • Sorry for being a n00b, but why would somebody do this? Truly asking btw-- not being rude/taking the mickey..

  • Isn't chassis pronounced shazee not chasiz? I guess depends on where your from.

  • @mur38 It's a digital voice automatically reading the text, not a human. It is reading an unfamiliar word phonetically.

  • My covers never ever come off that easily.

  • lol @ view count were you guys thinking you could just watch a video and attempt this? think again.

  • The main problem arises with the plastic tray the lcd/glass sits in, it will get bent out of shape and will never sit perfectly flush without complete replacement.

  • I have been repairing phones for many years, and this was the hardest repair I have ever done. This video was for HTC engineers, Many important steps are missing. Video is misleading, the part where it shows a metal strip inserted to cut the glue simply will not work. I did mange this repair with great difficulty and it is possible to remove the screen intact with the broken glass still attached. You will need to use just the right amount of force and a hot air gun to loosen the glue.

  • @blazin2233 You should make a video :)

  • If anyone can tell me where I could get a main board I'd love you forever and a day!

I damaged my mic and the repair shop said they'll repair it for free if I get hold of a main board. :)

    Thank you. :)

  • i did as it sown in this video.

    dissambly process is done!

    i couldn't put it back.

it's time to sell on ebay as spare parts.

  • @SharedJoy no luck , do you sell the lcd ?

  • Where to get gps removal tool ?

  • This desire hd looks a little different to what I have wtf?

  • @kgpp2293 you r right man, the mic is not located where it said in this video.

  • Video instructions are misleading, a lot of glue below the display

  • Anyone know how to replace the external volume button?

  • @SVMKM23 This ..... someone help on hopw to take the external volume button out

  • Sorry, you lost me at take out the battery cover. I started wandering off.

  • anyone actually bought the digitiser/digitiser + lcd combo off ebay and installed it? does the phone run (speed, smoothness etc) like before?

  • Where I can buy the tool number 9 for the gps cover?

    Thanks in advance,

  • @marcocrescioli Hi, you can try to pop it from inside, but it has 4 plastic hooks and you have to push it pretty hard (as strange it sounds) to make those hooks loosen. I didnt want to break anything inside, so i did it from the outside with sharp tool starting from top (of the phone), but to start from the right as video shows, also is possible and I think is even better.

  • I need digitalizer replacement tutorial on htc Desire HD. Some one pls help :o

  • Job done, but the video is so incorrect..

There are tapes all around the phone

And the worst part was after oven heater, The tape was so hard to remove.

The unit used for this video is already cleaned from tapes - on original one there are hard tape behind the display.

Do not try this if you have working LCD.

Do not try if you are beginer and never Disassembly before HTC.

  • @Stopperbul yeah. this video is bullshit. The adhesive adhering the LCD to the midplate has already been removed.

  • @Stopperbul yeah. this video is bullshit. The adhesive adhering the LCD to the midplate has already been removed.

  • @Stopperbul Absolutely correct!Do NOT try do to it by yourself, cause it is almost impossible, even if u fixed iPhone digitizers before. Its not so easy as with iPhone. Adhesive which holds lcd to the frame (2 stripes on the sides, and one on the bottom where the touchbuttons are) is so hard to remove, that you have to brake lcd into pieces. Even i had lcd+digitizer and experience fixing electronic equipment,it took me 3 hours to fix this htc.And after i did it, the device smtimes restarts itself.

  • Wow i just saw the person in the vid remove sd sim card slot right off the phone well the guy at my local phone repair shop/extreme mobile said it was soddered to the frame wat bullshit

  • Some people are asking about getting the GPS off, I just used a long screw driver and poked around (putting leverage) until it popped up. Then I pryed it off from the top. Didn't break anything..

  • Btw- before i realized I had broken the LCD when pulling off the diffuser, a speck of dust landed on the LCD. Arrggg... a tiny airborn flake looks like a 747 when it lands on the LCD screen. Then another one... I was like, "oh crap..." I have no idea how to get that off. You'll have to use a clean room! Abandon ye all hope... once again, buy the Lcd+diffuser combo. Previous post should read "blow dryer OR hot plate"

  • But at least you'll have a working phone. One more tip if you try pulling off the diffuser (don't!!!). You have to really heat the edges to get the glue to let go. You have to get it very, very hot without destroying it. Use blow dryer and hot plate but really just buy the whole contraption cause the chances of success are way slim for replacing just the diffuser. You've been warned ;)

  • Hi Everyone! DO NOT BUY JUST THE DIGITIZER. Insanely hard to replace. I managed to break the LCD screen applying the kind of force required to take it off. You'll need to stick a guitar pick looking tool in the crease and start working it around. Buy diffuser+LCD. Couldn't get those plastic things to stick to the lcd again so the bottom part wouldn't stay seated. Bought some silicon and filled that area. Good enough. You won't get the edges either to look good cause you'll bend the tiny prongs.

  • People here are so stupid. It is not the easiest thing you have ever done but if you follow the instructions and at least 1/2 of a brain then it works fine. I just followed all this and disambled it but now I just have one question,

;that is how I should connect the digitzer with the backgroundscreen? If you only buy a digitizer (like me), then there is the glass and a copper wire-thing and know that I need to connect that but not really sure how. If anyone can comment or link I would like tha

  • I'll remove my vibrator from your chassis >_>

  • alright now tell me how to assemble it -__-

  • did just screw my phone

  • People are saying buy the lcd/digitizer set, but my problem is, how do I even access these. I can't even do the first part of the disassembly, there isn't any shops which sell the GPS Cover Disassembly Tool (i'm stuck here) & then later on 0.15mm Steel Strip. I've tried using other objects without any success. Surely there is an easier way of taking the screen out, can't we just heat the front? and try it off carefully...

  • @Samaraki09 Slip a plastic card into the battery slot. Then slide a spoon handle in there toward the GPS cover. Gently turn the spoon and try to push up the GPS cover from underneath. You need to feel around a little bit. You just pop it up enough to slip the corner of another plastic card into the gap and gently work it around the camera side till you release the for tabs. Everything you do in there needs to be slow and careful.

  • she's not even saying chassis correct

  • @jlett24 "She" is a Japanese to English translator :P

  • lol

  • why the fuck would you wan to do this?

  • @85xriDER Just if you are wondering what's inside this phone :P

  • I've tried to replace the lcd screen ==> FAIL ! 600€ in my garbage

  • i have a desire HD, this video made me cry :(

  • good luck putting this thing back together...

  • Thank you for sharing this.

  • do not spill coffee from 4.00 min on woulds hahahahahahaha

  • Anyone have a video just for the remplacement of the LCD screen ?

  • @limeroundup are you retarded? its a computer voice you idiot

  • 3:35 Detach the rubber from the vibrator ;) haha

  • @TheCharban 8:50 The disassemble process is done ;) hahahaha

  • No. No.. no no no. Just do not try this unless you have experience fiddling with micro electronic devices. Or just feel it's worth the adrenaline.

Total fuck up seems to be just around the corner, or behind the next screw loosened.

The build quality of this phone is just amazing, no wonder it can survive a 10 feet drop into pure asphalt and still be alive with a shattered glass. Handing mine to somebody who can pull this off without a sweat, and still guarantee 100% operational device. I cant

  • Buy the whole Digitizer LCD Assembly or you will F* Up. Not a noob repair. If you need yours fixed message me.

  • @montereysecurity I have my phone in pieces! HELP lol

  • guys if i just need to change the digitizer do i need to disassemble the whole phone as shown?

  • @801054

yes it seems like every part needs to come off. Maybe you can skip some parts, like the cam?

But all connectors seems necessary, and everything past "LCD FPC Mylar" is just insane, but that's me.

  • any video how to change the glass digitizer??

  • @vazelos1992

I've just changed the digitizer on this phone and I tell you It wasn't so easy as I expected. Be careful when I changed digitizer I accidentally cut the connector from LCD display so I had to buy new one... :(

  • @alwerEx disassembling is ok but how to essemble new digitizer

  • @alwerEx Do you need to do this entire procedure to change the front screen digitizer?

  • @vazelos1992 it is one complete part (unless you bake the screen and then carefully pry the digi off) easier to just buy a new full assembly

  • @vazelos1992 I separated the broken glass with a hairdryer on low and my plastic insuance card. I covered most of the screen with a piece of cardboard and warmed the edges for short periods and worked the card between the glass and lcd starting in one corner of the top. Buy the lcd/touchscreen assembly for $85. I don't recommend trying to separate the two. The finished product will be better. It's not worth the time and headaches to separate the glass then get it all to stick together again.

  • @vazelos1992 dont try it you will break the lcd

    shakeel the iphone guy

  • aahh... "the upper board"..."

  • Isn't there a connector for the LED's

  • not easy but madeable

  • My lock button is stucked. Seriously, should i go through all this? NO. I'll just send it in, if the manufacturers would make it just a bit easier to access parts like this (who can fail!), i wouldn't send it in.
