  • I cried when I first saw this, and now tears are in my eyes. I really hope we can have another good man like you as president, President Bush.

  • He did the best with what he was given, for that he did a good job

  • Bush was the best President ever. Thank you for serving America for those eight hard years, Dubya. I love you!!!!!!!

  • i know he wasn't a great president, but he was a good man:)

  • @rubberduckyscanfly every president was a good man if you ask me. They all did what they thought was right.

  • @rubberduckyscanfly he was a better president than Obama...

  • History will vindicate you, Mr. President. God will vindicate you even more. Always the most maligned Presidents turn out to have been the best for the nation.

  • That was an outstanding speech. I have to admit that. Unfortunately, Bush's presidency has left us all in the financial doldrums. I do believe that he meant well. The problem is that we needed him to DO WELL. He didn't. I don't really blame him for not coming right out and saying it, but he failed us miserably. We will all pay for his failures for years to come. To me, he is the Herbert Hoover of our generation. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, but he was a horrible president. Long live Obama.

  • I agree with you and think it was a great speech but not his best. One of the best speeches of all time I think was the one a few days after 09/11/01. I don't think that President Bush was the greatest president, but most certainly one of the greatest.

  • For instance our current financial situation was actually caused in part by Obama (and several other Senators) when Bush tried his best to avoid our current financial situation by requiring banks accountable for their actions more than 2 years ago.

  • Then again about a year ago, same thing, and most of the same people supporting lower income minorities to help with their housing needs (an extremely honorable cause), but again, Obama and others would not listen. Yet Bush is getting the blame and Obama is elected president.

  • And I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but you must admit it seemed a bit suspicious when only 2 months before the election last year the rug was pulled out and announcements were made by not one, but several banks all at the same time, causing Bush to take action to bail them out. To get the record straight, it was Obama and other Democrats not Bush who were the ones responsible.

  • I can't prove it, nobody can, but I think it was a setup all along and was pushed by Democrats at corporate levels just before the election. I must admit it was extremely clever and well done, but at the expense of thousands of companies and people now suffering financially. I commend them the same as I would when a rival football team is playing my favorite team and they make a great play and score. It worked.

  • Bush proved cutting taxes worked. For over 4 years there was uninterrupted job growth, a world record. Historians will write about the Bush years and him pulling us out of recession. Now Obama wants to 'change' that system and increase taxes, which would make it much harder to recover. He obviously does not understand the positive effects of cutting capital gains and dividend tax rates.

  • The more money people have in their pockets the quicker the economy will recover. Obama will hopefully 'change' his thinking the same as he has over almost a dozen other issues he promised during his campaign. Thankfully one of the 'changes' in his promises has been to keep our troops defending us in enemy areas after learning from President Bush about defense secrets at a White House briefing a few weeks ago.

  • The poor guy just didn't know the truth that we citizens and even the news media have no access to. Bush has also done an outstanding job of protecting us for the last 8 years from any of the further predicted inevitable muslim attacks by organizing and putting into action our current effective home land security department.

  • President Bush must be commended for his appointment of great Supreme Court judges, improving our educational systems, his support of alternative energy and local oil instead of buying oil from those who hate us and for bringing back dignity and morality to the White House from a previous sleazy and scandalous impeached administration.

  • There is now a list of 152 lies that have been absolutely confirmed without any doubt that Obama has willfully told so far. What's also troubling is that a large number of his lies were confirmed by comparison to statements made in his published books. Therefore, not only is a lair difficult to trust, but he did not use a lot of common sense or judgment when telling so many lies that could be so easily detected.

  • So Obama has already proven to be an extremely bad lair, but the question is, would he be a good president? And is he following in the same footsteps as his hero Bill Clinton, impeached for lying under oath? Over 90% of his intended appointments to various positions and offices so far are old left-overs from the Clinton refrigerator.

  • One being Hilary, of all people and another for treasury secretary who failed to pay the IRS incomes taxes for several years. Is this supposed to be the 'change' he spoke of so much during his campaign? And does anyone, including the media, those close to his party or even those who voted for this person know exactly what 'changes' he promised during his campaign that he intends to make?

  • Even the 95% of black voters, many who have openly admitted their bias and racism in voting for this both black and white person simply because he has mostly black features, have no idea what 'changes' he intends to make. A little over half the voters voted for Obama, and nearly half the voters voted against him.

  • It will be interesting how he is accepted now by even those who voted for him for whatever reasons they had as well as the almost 50% who voted against him being the next president considering all the information that is being revealed about him. Broken promises are normally not good. However his broken campaign promises about the war are good as they concern our national defense and security.

  • Can Obama be trusted now that over 100 lies have been undeniably confirmed? How will one know when he's lying and when he may be telling you the truth? Compulsive lairs usually have two dominate traits. One is they lie so often that they actually start believing their many lies. And two, they get confused and can't remember what they had lied about first or if they actually did tell the truth the first time or not and so their stories get turned around.

  • Obama has proven to have at least one of these compulsive lair traits in that he can't keep up with what he said first and then either lied about or finally told the truth. Things you did when you were a youth and even up until last year, affect your growth and determine to a great extent who you will be and the decisions you will make when you're an adult.

  • As a president, it could easily affect how you will handle defense situations, Supreme Court judge appointments, being Commander In Chief and your performance of duties as president. The fact that he was admittedly a muslim and then claims to now be a Christian, but blasphemes the Word of God, the Bible and the teachings of Jesus seem to be contradictory.

  • And then he quickly leaves a church he had attended faithfully for 20 years or more because the teachings there that were racist, full of hate for Caucasians and hate of the U.S., were exposed by the media. A persons actions then become suspicious and phony. They reveal that they don't stand strong for what they believe in regardless of whether they're campaigning for president or not.

  • At that point they're a leaf blowing in the wind without cause. And even in his youth, Obama blamed his homosexuality and letting other men have their way with him and he with them on his being on drugs! Again, things that happen as a youth don't necessarily interfere with a guy being the president, but your past experiences form your moral fiber and direction.

  • So will he be a lightweight on the drug problem in the US? Will be support homosexual marriage, recently overwhelmingly voted down by the voters in three states? Will he call himself Christian and then do what is, according to God, an 'abomination' to Him? Obama has proven his Socialistic intentions, but will he actually attempt to implement them on the American people now that the election is over?

  • i guess you've never heard of separation of church and state, huh? Meanwhile bush talks in this speech about the environment being cleaner, which is a baldfaced lie and he even cut environmental laws to make it cheaper for corporations to pollute the planet. so GEE, i wonder which is worse in the long run... gay marriage or destroying all life on earth.

  • @giramino @giramino So...are you suggesting Obama should implement religious beliefs into government policy?

I'm sorry, but that would be ludicrous.

  • @jfkpublicservant No not at all since, being a muslim, the god that obama worhips (or the 'allah' as he is referred to in obama's country) is not the God of the Bible Whom the original founders of our nation and Constitution referred to as 'Creator' and 'God'.

  • @giramino Uhhh...look I don't want to turn this into an intense debate or anything, but Obama is a Christian. In fact, he received heated criticism during the 2008 election because his pastor said some very inflammatory and unpatriotic things while in a CHRISTIAN Church.

  • @jfkpublicservant It's been said, "You can live in a barn, but that doesnt make you a cow." Being a Christian involves a personal relationship with and love of God, His Son and the Holy Spirit. It is an acceptance of the gift of salvation, One on one, and not necessarily if or where one 'goes to church'. There are numerous people who attend various Christian churches who are not Christians.

  • @giramino So where's the evidence that the President is a Muslim? Just because he dressed up in Kenyan garb (because his father was a Kenyan) that automatically makes him a Muslim?

And who the hell are we to judge whether or not the President is a good Christian? Its my understanding that only the Almighty can judge that...

  • @jfkpublicservant I agree with you 100% that God and only God is the Judge. My intention was not to imply anything else. However, it's been said that 'you can always judge a tree by its fruit'. The Word says that you can tell a lot about a tree by its fruit: Matthew 7:16-20 In that sense we should judge the content of one's speech and actions.

  • @jfkpublicservant My comments were concerning his roots, beliefs, his study of the koran, acceptance of the islam (false) prophet muhammad 'as being the last prophet', prayers to his allah and so forth. Perhaps the most evidence is obama's criticism of God's Word, his arrogant ridicule of the teachings of Jesus, his support of issues that are clearly sinful and contrary to the teachings of the Torah, teachings throughout the Old Testament and the teachings and instructions of Jesus.

  • @jfkpublicservant Christians just dont do these kind of things. I hope that clears up my comments. Please do the research even if you google or get Internet help. Also consult the various online newspaper websites by the dozens.

  • @giramino So I need to clear this up with you.

If I dress up like a Kenyan, or wear the native dress of any African nation, I'm a bad Christian?

If you think so, you've got some serious racial problems.

  • @jfkpublicservant A garment or attire was never mentioned by me and really doesn't matter as far as my concerns of the US have a muslim president. What matters is the commitments and actions a person has made and what is within his spirit, not what he wears.

  • @giramino The UN calls Norway the best country to live in. We have free healthcare and a socialdemocratic leaders... The fact that America comes clooser to us is a good thing don´t you agree?

  • @frbarlan First of all, and just FYI, it's probably not a good idea to use the 'UN' for an endorsement of your ideas, theories, government philosophies or under any circumstances, military products or advice. They have through the years developed quite a poor reputation here in the USA and in other countries. But regarding your question, I love the people of Norway and have great respect for them. I have never met a person from there that I didn't like.

  • @frbarlan And I'm glad that, at least many, of the residents approve of their current form of government. Any country, including Norway, must have a weak area or a time of especially financial challenge to have ever adopted socialism. It's free this and free that, but not always necessarily the best free products or services, including healthcare, which may be the very worst in that country even above Canada.

  • @frbarlan The country's extremely high taxes are perhaps a justification for all the 'free' government and employment services, but we all know that 'nothing is free'. And it's usually the wealthy; those who have sacrificed and worked very hard for years to be where they are financially that get the largest bill. Plus, Norway has many God given natural resources such as oil, gold and silver in addition to good trade agreements with neighboring countries.

  • @frbarlan But the more a country's citizens ask their government to do for them, the more control they give that government over their lives. So then you 'owe' them and they eventually gain absolute control over you, your speech, education, occupation, families and many other rights and freedoms that Americans just don't choose to give up.

  • @frbarlan There are also poorly run facilities and factories that produce inferior products due in part to giving their key management personnel free time and leave at the expense of the government and to leave their posts poorly attended while they are out fishing and playing golf at a nice resort while the taxpayers and the wealthy pay their bills for them.

  • @frbarlan And Norwegians own businesses the same as Americans own businesses. So the 'capitalism' part of that works for all. America will not always have the current economic climate we are now experiencing under this new inexperienced president that the voters elected.

  • @frbarlan He's also the one who has had the nerve to 'blame Bush' for 'inheriting the current financial conditions' when it was he who, while a Senator in Illinois, along with other democrats, refused to cause the banks to be accountable for their actions regarding low income borrowers that Bush pleaded on several occasions for many years to resolve. You cant 'blame Bush' for that one!

  • @frbarlan Socialism always has to find a soft spot to weasel its way in. However, this soft spot we're experiencing has given an opening for almost anything to immediately solve all the problems democrats have created since the liar, adulterer, draft dodger, impeached president Clinton was elected before Bush ever even thought about being president. Some changes will be made I'm sure in November that will start the wheels for us once again and our current soft spot will be resolved.

  • @frbarlan It seems that it's capitalism that is working for Norway giving them trade surplus and enough money to afford the luxury of their lavish social programs. Therefore, it's due to the success of capitalism, not socialism since it's a proven fact that socialism makes people less productive and lacking entrepreneur goals.

  • @frbarlan Let me also ask you a question. How would you like to live in Cuba? And one more. Do you believe that Bill Gates or Donald Trump would be who they are today if they had lived in Norway instead of the USA?

  • @frbarlan Update. Norway is no longer #1. Sweden, Fin and DK has joined the battle.

  • There are hundreds of questions about this person we just don't know and didn't know before the election. How can anyone with any degree of common sense predict what a man with this type character and morals will do? Trouble is, we don't know.
