@jeff66y The Edge, from a technical point of view, is certainly no where near being one of the best - I've been playing for about 45 years now so have something of a sense of this. His sound has some innovation for sure, it's a kind of combination of blues man John Lee Hooker and Charlie Burchill (who was doing "Edgy" kind of things well before The Edge in the band Simple Minds). That said, The Edge is very good and an absolute joy to listen to, a very humble man too.

@PIlotrcm...I take it you've never seen U2 live...it's not just the sound system, it's that out of all the concerts I've been to, U2 sounds the best...always.  Not only that, they've had the same sound engineer for 32 years. His name is Joe O'Herlihy, and he's pretty well known in the business as being one of the best...if not the best.

It sounded to me like Edge lost his timing slightly with a hiccup at 1:14 and to get himself back on track just went into the strumming portion of the intro early. I would be rather upset if I got to see U2 live and they messed up the intro like that. That is my all-time favorite song intro and it would be disappointing. But, The Edge is human like the rest of us and makes mistakes like the rest of us.

@Silver1SWA Exactly. The mistake is not on Edge´s coming in earlier but on his missing the delay´s pace.

I agree, if I pay the fortune that U2 tickets cost I would be extremely disappointed to have such a flaw in their greatest song ever (and one of the greatest live songs of all time).

However, I have seen thousands of live versions of this song and this is the first time I´ve seen such a flaw. IMO he´s one of the best guitarists ever. Few can transmit such emotions as this guy. Cheers

What an awesome night. Have been a fan since 2000 and never got a chance to see them. Was living in New Orleans at the time, and had to do SATs in the morning, finished then hopped in the car for a six hour drive to Houston. I remember thinking if it was worth it to travel 12 hours round trip to see a two hour concert, but after the concert I knew that was a stupid question. I'm so glad I got a chance to see them live.

Thanks for getting this, I was in the circle and jumping the whole time. I couldn't have cared less how "CRAPPY" the rest of the crowd was. I was just soaking it in. Hadn't seen them since the Elevation tour. This songs is the ultimate experience in live music. And yeah, in the concert I was like, Edge has already moved onto the latter part of the intro.
