Ok guys, if you're running Snow Leopard you're gonna get issues. Leopard should work fine, but Snow Leopard doesn't work... =/
I don't think it'll work in any app to be quite honest. I guess the way the app maps out the button presses to work on Snow Leopard is wrong or something.
@wiipwnzps3 I've been having problems too, but got it to work using this fix. sites.google.com/site/mactechlogs/main_page/darwiinremote-snow-leopard-fix
okay.. my computer recognizes the wiimot, but when i run nestopia, its not registering any of the keys i mapped out in darwiinremote. i tested the functionality on other programs on my computer but nestopia just isnt working! anyone having the same problems?
@qwertykyle666 REALLY odd problem you and @CCV334 have...I don't exactly know what could possibly be wrong...I'll take a look again just to check. I know Snow Leopard is causing problems...
@wiipwnzps3 so i downloaded the older version of darwiinremote. but im using sixty force and i do the button mapping and the controller just doesnt work. but the keyboard does.
Hey man, thanks for posting this. I'm having a problem though, I have Darwiin .7 and Nestopia 1.4.1 and I set my Darwiin up just as you described and left it on while I loaded up Nestopia. But for some reason I can't use the wiimote. Both of them are installed in my application folder, but it just won't work for me. What do you think is going on?
here's the real question: how do you use the infrared pointer as a Zapper. I tried it in SNES9X and MAME OS X and it won't recognize it, it will only recognize the touchpad as a pointing device.
@neogeon It's possible...but it's best with a sensor bar, all that you would have to do is configure Darwiin Remote to detect the IR as mouse movement, and then you could do mouse clicks using the wii remote, moving the cursor through IR, but I'm not sure if that would work for sure.
@wiipwnzps3 I already do that, but it isn't recognized by MAME OS X or SNES9X. In fact, in SNES9X, it will superimpose the mouse pointer from the Wiimote while the touchpad shows up as a reticle and you can move them independently. There must be an option somewhere to allow alternate pointing devices to act as "low level" devices to be taken the same way as the touch pad, but I don't know how to do that.
@snower5554 Hmm...can you give me previous steps you did so I can maybe recreate the problem? The only thing I can think of is that the devices are on the left side once you click Bluetooth...if it isn't there, just try again hitting 1+2 to make is discoverable.
well, i click find wiimote, hold down 1 and 2 at the same time on the wiimote and get the error message. so i go to bluetooth, and the device is not on the list of devices on the left.
awsome! i finally figured it out with your advice and trial and error. It appears SNES has its own controls defaulted to the keyboard so when you set up the wiimote with darwiin you can set certain buttons on it to certain keys on the keyboard. pretty simple idea just didn't think of it at the time lol appreciate your response tho. and now i will go and play donkey kong country :D hell ya!
Whoa I swear I thought I replied to this...sorry!!!
Uhmm...I'd try the Nunchuck compatibility of Darwiin Remote, set C and Z on the nunchuck to be something, A and B to be, well, A and B, and maybe see if you could use the control stick as a d-pad, if not use 2 as B, 1 as A, A as X, and B as Y while using the same config as this video, simply the wiimote held sideways. I hope this helps, maybe I'll get a vid for SNES now too!
awsome info video. i'm glad i stumbled upon this for my classic gaming adventures lol darwiin works awsome with nestopia, although i was wondering if you play with any snes emulators and how you would config the x and y button to the wiimote because in mario for snes dash is y or x and jump is b or a and im stuck with two jump buttons with the configuration for nes that you showed. any idea how to config that?! it will be much appreciated, im looking forward to playing all these classics. thanks
Well, Darwiin has to be open if you want to run the emulator with the Wiimote (considering Darwiin is on the setting for NEStopia). Thanks for the watch =] Hope I answered ur question.
how did you get the nestopia screen so big? mine is like 1/16 of the screen
