There's no question the Porsche is a better track car. After all, it's a sports car. The Ferrari is more of a GT.
I absolutely love the 599, and loved how it pulled back ahead in the end, but you can't ignore the facts. With AWD and less weight, the Porsche would dominate it on a track.
Both are fantastic cars in the end and I can't see someone complaining if he owned either one of them.

I am a porsche fan but I am also a huge ferrari fan, they are both fantastic cars however when it comes to cornering the ferrari just feel heavier and not as sharp. The porsche also doesnt have as "big" of a feeling as the ferrari does. The porsches all wheel drive set up is also something that is quite helpful in allowing it to tear through the corners.

That's a problem with Toyotas all over the world, not just in the UK. But it's a media hype because the "perfect" brand has a (small) flaw. No journalist would write about a Chrysler or a Fiat with a loose steering wheel....
Toyotas are STILL the most reliable cars in the world. A LOT more reliable than any Ferrari.
I would not buy a Toyota though, even though they are cheap, reliable, fuel-efficient everyday cars. I wouldn't buy them because they lack one important thing: style.

Ferrari street car reliability ratings are terrible and the maintenance costs are astronomical. These ratings are kind of unfair though because a lot of Ferrari owners let their cars sit while Porsches are driven more often. Even good cars allowed to sit will be less reliable. Nobody that buys these cars worries about repair costs though.

thats not completely true. ferrari hasnt made a steel car since the 70's. the 599, 430 and california are all made of aluminum. also the engine in the enzo was out before the 599 was conceived. the engine was detuned for use in the 599

These ratings are kind of unfair though because a lot of Ferrari owners let their cars sit while Porsches are driven more often. Even good cars allowed to sit will be less reliable. Nobody that buys these cars worries about repair costs though.

Today Ferrari builds some of the most dominant road cars, and Porsche and Ferrari compete furiously with each other. Ferrari's reputation of building solid cars has never been better since the begining of 2000. Do your research before you talk trash

Ofcourse you are entitled to your opinion, but I wouldn't call Porsche an ugly car by any means. Besides, the techniques they are currently using are much more advanced than on a ferrari.

Yea i agree the 993 is a bit cooler than hte 997 but the 911 is still very cool its so classic and the quality of every things r unbeatable but of course its very expensive.

I don't get what's your problem. Not all cars have the same purposes. Why not say drop a grand piano on every 4-door family car because they're not fast enough? Likewise, a Ferrari doesn't have exactly the same purposes as a Porsche. In my humble opinion, Ferrari is more for showboating while Porsche is a pure sports car like you've said.

porsche schlägt sich gut, sind eh kleine unterschiede. zudem hat der porsche nur 6zylinder,3600ccm und ca 150ps weniger. dafür hält er sich gut.
der neue turbo mit 3800ccm, direkteinspritzung,doppelkupplungsgetriebe und 500ps wäre mal interessant, da ist der unterschied noch kleiner, wenn es denn einen unterschie überhaupt noch gibt.

Sebaleon is right, Porsche´s are not built for specific area´s, there are plenty Porsche´s in California, where the wether is not foggy at all. Porsche´s are designed for fun driving and this Porsche (the Turbo TT) is indeed built for bruit speed. And what do you think about the Carrera GT, if that isn´t a "supercar"...

@xkg20t The GTR is built incredibly well how can you say its a piece of junk when it got voted all them awards. The only problem they had with the 2008 GTR's was the transmisson when people didnt know how to launch the car & using it without the with VDC turned on. GTR uses only Carbon Fibre, Fibre Glass & Aluminium theres no cheap plastic on the car just brillant technology. Don't cuss the car because you don't like it keep your opinions to yourself & learn about the car b4 talking rubbish..

people need to wise up. The engine in the 599 is a detuned Enzo engine. The Enzo is a HYPER CAR. The Porcshe 911T is a top end SUPER CAR. No Eric, the categories are there as a matter of fact, For reference here is the 'rough' scale speed of the categories suggested.
Sports Cars: 130mph + 160max
Super Cars: 175mph + 200max
Uber Cars: 199mph 260max
Clear and defined differences between the performance 'bracketing' of the cars. There is also over lap re my last post. In this vid you have a car with an detune V12 Enzo engine (capable of 220mph+) Vs a standard Porsche Turbo. AKA NOT IN THE SAME CLASS. capisce ?

Don't look at which car the engine originally came from. Look at in which car it is now, and how much horsepower it produces. That is what matters. Capisce?

LOL Eric-son, I'm no authority but i see cars with a clarity of understanding you clearly lack. The categories are not even questionable. If these two cars where boxers, the 599 (due to that enzo lump) would be a Heavy weight, the 911 a hard hitting Middle weight. For reference Autozine quote:

Note the "class" of car the 599 is being compared too. No 911 FOR A REASON.

no the 599 has a 600 hp and the enzo has 650
its the same engine but the enzo's engine was improved and the enzo uses carbon fiber body
the 599 uses pure steel on body base.
and the aerodynamics of the enzo even though it only has 650 hp is capable of almost 230
it was already tested in public the enzo reached 227 mph

thats not completely true. ferrari hasnt made a steel car since the 70's. the 599, 430 and california are all made of aluminum. also the engine in the enzo was out before the 599 was conceived. the engine was detuned for use in the 599

Not meaning to be picking, but your stats are wild. The 599 uses a detuned Enzo lub wit 620BHP while the Enzo has 660BHP, the 599 is ALL-aluminum a fact that gives this large car an 911 turbo matching kerb weight of 1580kg (911T 1585)

The Porsche and the Horse are not in the same class, BUT They are becoming closer and closer as the years go by. the GT3 can take on most Ferrari's to date, not as fast in top speed, but they can get off the line, AND Porsche's arnt built for bruit speed, they are made for the Mountain roads in Germany / France.

For me the phrase uber super car was coined by Top Gears Clarkson in around 2006 when he introduced a Koenigseg and tried to differentiate the car he was testing from the more common hi end super cars such as Murcielago. Since Uber car and Hyper car, have often been used by automotive experts around the world to describe cars that are literally beyond and above all else.
